Rejoice all maymayers, Dark Memes makes a glorious return! I have been testing all kinds of stuff but haven’t just gotten that really juicy meme flavor for a while. My collection had also some holes of actually good cards that needed to be filled before I could get back to insane, irresponsible crafting.
Without further ado, witness the latest creation of this mad meme scientist, RaCaChaCa (Rawr Calculator Chakram Cadence):
The deck’s main goal is to get as many Calculators as possible to your hand, and play them out for some ridiculous stats. We’re about to get an on-curve Calc out about 40% of times. By then, the opponent has 4 or 5 mana to play some fairly specific answers (dispel or hard removal). If they can’t remove Calc, they’re in for some serious trouble as he can have anything between 15 and even 45 total stats (for example: Ooz + Yun + Rawr + the 2/5 celerity token pet is a 14/20 Calc, without an even particularly ridiculous hand).
The strategies used to win, besides simply playing huge Calculators out are as follows (in order of importance):
- Plan A: Calculator Cadence. The deck’s most obvious combo, which it mainly aims to achieve. This can happen as early as 5 mana, if you have a 10-13 atk Calculator out.
- Optional Plan A: Calculator Chakram. It’s hard to keep both Cadence and Chakram in hand, so Chakram sees less play of the two combined with Calc (as Cadence should be your priority). Still, Chakram played with a Calc on board can be a huge, potentially game-ending play.
- Plan B: Chakuram petto maddo swarmo. Sometimes, you can’t find your Calculators. The deck’s winrate obviously goes down a lot in that situation. Still, sometimes it’s possible to win simply by utilizing the pets’ bloated statlines. Some decks (especially solo builds) are not good at handling an ongoing swarm of big mindless frenzy minions.
- Plan C: Puppydragon swarm. In fringe cases, even a single/couple unanswered Puppydragons can occasionally snowball into victory. Shiro is an underrated swarm card, and even better with pets since his effect takes place at the end of your turn (and doesn’t waste your buffs like most other pet swarm combos).
Priority cards to play in the early turns are Shiro and Mantella to keep your pet stats in hand. Unneeded removal should also be replaced aggressively for Calcs, Cadences, Chakrams and Rawrs.
RaCaChaCa is obviously a very draw-dependent deck, but can also completely catch the opponent off guard (it also has a nice winrate against Wanderer Ragnora!). I have gotten as many friend requests/all kinds of non-salt and salt messages in these 20 games as in probably all the previous 6 months.
Winrate? You’re not gonna believe this. A big 12-8 (60%) in Diamond! Tierlist makers, I’m ready for you
Ask away if you have questions on the deck, I had to basically create a new playstyle for this deck from scratch so lots of it is new for me as well
