I have tried a Maehv trail deck, a magmar aggro deck, and a work in progress songhai backstab deck, and nothing has worked. any advice?

Can’t advice without seeing the lists. Use Bagoum.com/deckbuilder to make deck pictures, upload them here, and then someone may help. Maybe even me

But as a sidenote, backstab Hai hasn’t been good for ages, imo. There were some reports here and there that someone made somewhat working backstab deck (you may search the forums), but it’s nowhere to be seen on ladder, that’s how good it is.

Lantern fox is great for killing the enemy general with tons of phoenix fires. Ki beholder is good for holding back strong minions as well as setting up backstabs.

Also, at the moment Ragnora is the best general for Budget Magmar and inarguably the best Magmar general overall.

If you’re inclined to use Vaath, you’ll probably need the Smash variation, which aims to raise its attack fast and kill the opponent with the hands of Vaath himself. It’s the only tactics Vaath excels at compared to other generals. Here’s a deck I enjoy. I got a pretty easy climb from Diamond to S with it previous season:

I would play something more similar to this [image] Lavaslashers without the Golem package aren’t that great anymore. But you could still play them. I also think the Bloodbound Mentors could be replaced with Ragebinders because your hand could be pretty full most of the time but that needs testing. There could be a case made for a 3rd Finality. Or some Spirit Harvesters for more control. The Heralds are bad with NS but still more preferable to Healing Mystic…

It’s on the expensive side, but may give you some insight.

BTW, if you enjoy playing ANY Magmar, Makantor is the first card you should craft. It’s an autoinclude independent on the tactics you use. It’s just too good.

A well-built Trial Maehv deck should have a field day with the boss I imagine.

Also remember that against bosses you can make certain changes to a deck knowing what the boss does and the ways in which they are exploitable.

yeah, im budget. i only have a few legendaries, 1 drogon, 1 hexclaw, 3 ghost seraphim, and 3 sworn sisters
