Mechaz0r Lineup

At this point, you guys should have seen all the robotic Build minions and are probably wondering "with all this war tech, where are the Mechs?"

Well, this week we'll be focusing on the brand new Mechs coming out with Immortal Vanguard!

Before we dive into the spoilers, we have a few Mech changes we'd like to make with the expansion - including changes to MECHAZ0R itself, and a change to how the process of completing MECHAZ0R works in the game.

These changes will allow us to better integrate Mechs into Duelyst, and allow us to create new exciting cards to enhance your Mech arsenal!

MECHAZ0R Updates

Chassis Changes

Chassis will be changed to the following:

  • Removed "Cannot be targeted by ANY Spells"
  • Gained "Forcefield"
  • Stats changed from 5/4 to 2/4

Mechaz0r Changes

The big Mech itself (MECHAZ0R) is going through several changes:

  • Removed "Cannot be targeted by ANY Spells"
  • Gained "Forcefield"
  • Stats changed from 8/8 to 6/6
  • Mana cost reduced from 7 to 4

Mechaz0r Picture

Have you ever felt weird playing more Mech cards after they've destroyed your MECHAZ0R?

Another change we're doing is allowing you deploy multiple MECHAZ0Rs!

After your MECHAZ0R build progress reaches 100%, subsequent cards that build MECHAZ0R will contribute to the process of another MECHAZ0R.

Now every time you hit 100% build progress, a new MECHAZ0R is ready to hit the battlefield!

Interesting. Still powerful with SotW or Bombard, I think. Hoping for faction mechs, or something interesting :slight_smile: lots of room for creativity with Mechs

It’s awesome to see mechs finally changed, the old design was indeed annoying.

In a vacuum, the nerfs sound overdone, but since more mech support is coming, it’s likely for the better.

I don’t know how I feel about Mechaz0r being 4 mana, since it can be one of the random mechs from Z0r. Probably need to see it in action and how dangerous it could be when dropped at 4 mana.

Chassis is now the same stats as Nightwatcher. The forcefield is good if you combine it with buffs and makes it hard to remove without using spells.

Mechaz0r! looks mostly weaker now, especially since he can die to any regular removal.

On the bright side a Mechaz0r! pulled from Z0r comes out much earlier, and you can now buff him with stuff like Killing edge, Aegis and Divine Bond (Lyonar mech meta incoming?).

Also for those who meme you can summon two Mechaz0r!s for 8 mana with alter Rexx on the field.

magmar will rise again mechs plus that combo face damage im scared already but good change removal will be needed to counter but the direct face damage gunna be magmar alternate finisher

Props to the balance team for deciding to remake them, i think that’s an excellent choice. In fact, all the changes since UP have been really good. I wonder if that’s Ryv’s positiv influence?

Letting mechazor be answered more easily actually gives more of a come-back mechanic to mech decks.

Before it was too polarized. You either couldn’t answer mechazor and lost, or you did answer and the mech player lost due to having mostly sub-par minions for the rest of the game.

Chassis still won’t be used though, unless there is mech support that is some kind of buff to mechs as a whole instead of just being more mech minions.

you can play one from hand, then play another, with 8 mana and alter rexx on field

I definitely approve of the stats decrease though. Not sure how I feel about indirect buff to hard removal spells…

Where is the usual rationale?

I feel that really explains (some of) the reasons for changes and I would rather like to see/hear it now.
