Duelyst Forums

A New Community Person Appears!

Hi Folks!

My name’s Shaun “Stormshade” Brodie, and I’m a Lead Community Manager at Bandai Namco Entertainment of America.

I wanted to pop in and introduce myself, although truth be told, I don’t think you’ll see me too much around these parts, as you’re already in good hands with @ThanatosNoa. That said, I’ll be around to help him with anything he needs, and will make sure to pop in and say hello from time to time.

I’m a big fan of Duelyst, and have been playing for the past few months. I haven’t hit S-Rank yet, but I’m proud to say that I’ve managed to make Gold a couple of seasons, when I had the time to play more. I’m a big fan of Abyssians (2 ribbons), and I’m currently working towards my first Magmar ribbon.

I’m super excited to be a part of the Duelyst community, and I look forward to getting to know you all!

If you have any questions which you feel haven’t been answered about BNEA coming in to work on Duelyst, or just want to know more about me, feel free to ask!

Cheers,

Stormshade

Welcome to our corner of the internet!

1/ have you planned if we already have a BN account ?

2/ have you planned to take care of non-USA players ? Because currently, only the US site is advertising about Duelyst, and as European player it’s impossible to create an “US” account and you are automatically redirected to the EU dedicated BN website … where there is not even a word about Duelyst.

Yes, when you log into the game and start the account linking flow, when prompted to create a new BNEA account just click the “Log In” tab at the top and log in with your existing BNEA account.

Yes! Duelyst’s publishing agreement is with Bandai Namco Entertainment of America, which is different from Bandai Namco Entertainment of Europe. I know it’s a little confusing, but that’s why you’re experiencing this issue. You’ll need a BNEA account, and not a BNEE account to play Duelyst moving forward.

You should be able to create a BNEA account in game when we come back up without having to worry about any of the re-direct issues on the web. We’re working on making this flow better, but for now, sadly, our EU and NA account systems are separate, and you’ll need one for North America to play Duelyst.

I’m sorry about the confusion this caused you, and hope that I helped to clear it up a bit.

Cheers,

Stormshade

So, there won’t be any problem if I try to create a BNEA account, considering I already have a BNEE account using the same email adress that I used to register one year ago with Duelyst ?

Also, second question : how will I manage my account (update, get rewards, activate stuff) on BNEA website when I cannot access it at all because I’m hardly redirected to the BNEE one ?

Abyssian fan, I already like you a lot.

There should be no problems as they are separate account systems. That said, rewards programs offered through BNEE are not something that Duelyst is involved with at this time. So you will essentially have a Bandai Namco Account for Europe, and a separate Bandai Namco account for the NA region.

Does that help to clear things up?

Crossing fingers … and we’ll see. Thanks.
Anyway, I guess I’m not the only non-American player, so, if there’s an issue, I won’t be alone to call support about it.

I manage our support team as well here. So if you need us, we will work to help resolve any issues as soon as possible.

Cheers,

I hope you didn’t put any hard redirect based on location for that new diamond page, let’s pray it’s not hosted on BNEA site, with same location restriction

That’s all handled through a payment processor. So no redirects or any issues should arrive there.

All the cool kids hangout on the memes post. I learned that yesterday.

I hope the great interaction with the devs on this forum here won’t diminish as a result of ‘professional customer service/relations or community managing’ (which in my experience so far have rarely been better than non-professional customer service/relations and in fact very often worse, no offense).

Any comments on that?

(Basically, in other words: can we expect the devs to still read and reply freely here?)

They’re free to post as much as they like so long as they don’t break any community rules. Just like the rest of us!

That’s good that they can, thanks.

Now if I could hear from them that they also will, still, that would be stellar

Well come! To the duelyst family, were we balance all factions but dont touch vetruvian, I mean it dont touch vetruvian. Hope you enjoy your stay

Word of advice: STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THE MEME THREAD AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE (or even as Eldritch Horror-ly possible).

That being said, we’re glad to have you here.

Joking aside, welcome to Duelyst, both as part of the CPG team and as part of the community.

Questions:

  1. What is your role as a Lead Community Manager?
  2. What is your plan that you have in your head as you enter into your role here?
  3. What do you think will be the major points of your focus? The least important or minor?

May have more follow-up questions.

Awwwww…but I like making new friends…
But yeah, @stormshade, Welcome!
