I'm @alplod and I'm being kicked out of the game by BN

Huh. Weird. I don’t know then. And we’re not likely to ever know, at least if we keep get lawyer speak.

This is my biggest issue; someone somewhere within BN should have been aware of the actions that were going to be taken and inform the community about it. By not doing so allows investing players to put money into the game with, again, someone, knowing that those regions won’t remain available. To let players invest into the game with knowledge that they will no longer be capable of playing it within the near future; That’s legit theft.

As nicely as you perceive the events, it still holds onto the notion that someone in BN knew beforehand, and that they weren’t capable of bringing it forward to the playerbase. I don’t know in what manner they would have led to the conclusion that the playerbase would be aware of legal/regional restrictions, especially considering there had been none prior.

my best guess is that they’re not allowed to inform the community

Probably not a dirty scheme, considering from a business standpoint, customers who spend once, might spend more in the future with new expansions. Its a ‘might’ but its better than the ‘definitely not’ you’d get from locking them out of the game. So it wouldn’t make sense to lock people from other countries out, when you could keep them in, and possibly make more money. If this is some sort of dirty scheme, its an extremely poorly thought out one.

CPG? maybe, but I’m saying BN. And if BN can’t, and CPG can’t, then who can? If there’s no open communication channels between producer and customer in a long lasting relationship, what’s really left? Someone has to know what’s going on, and one thing is for certain: the community has not been informed.

Why do we need @stormshade then? Just to show off? He is BN employee after all. I just don’t understand why he is not here. Isn’t he, not Thanny, supposed to resolve such issues?

Some quotes.

So lie-lie-lie.

Dirty scheme is not in stopping to support some countries.

Dirty scheme is that from the very beginning they new they would stop supporting some countries, but told noone.

I see.

In that case, you are right, and I personally completely agree with you.

I heard somewhere that browser works for Russians. Haven’t tested it what w/ my not living in Russia and all.

T2K5 went through the EULA looking for nasty surprises and found these.

Any commercial use of the Services by You is strictly prohibited.

Streaming is illegal bois.

and

Except as required by applicable law, BANDAI NAMCO cannot and will not guarantee Your access to any Online Feature of the Game, and hereby expressly disclaims any liability arising from Your inability to access any Online Feature of the Game, for any reason.

oh, also,

Doing anything that interferes with the ability of other users to enjoy playing the Game or that materially increases the expense or difficulty of BANDAI NAMCO to maintain the Game for the enjoyment of all players;

Joseki is breaking the EULA lol.

I read EULA looking for some nasty surprises and uhhh…
Except you didn’t, you just posted some of the stuff I posted on Discord directly to here. Also, you left the most relevant thing I posted out:

Any violation of the “Code of Conduct” set forth in this Section 4.a
may result in suspension or termination of Your account
---
Accessing the Services using any technology intended to mask or
conceal your IP address, including any proxies, virtual private networks,
or remote access services ---

So they can terminate your account if you use a VPN to reset your password in places where the game’s blocked, or if you’re getting forcibly redirected to BNEU.

This situation is absurd. Seeing something like this in 2017 is something I would have never expected

I’d better pull the workaround I posted then before I get culled. Though I won’t because I’m not playing a game controlled by a company that would punish their players for working around their incompetence anyway.

I made a longpost here:

If the community has any suggestions what to do, I’m ready.

We should make this known not only for Duelyst public, but for public in general.

I pray that won’t ruin Duelyst, just make BN rethink their policy.

I dont know why they should block some regions. It just decreasing the chance for new players to come… what the hell…

And this rule is stupid too, if they dont want ppl to use VPN then why blocked their regions.

I hope @alplod get his account back.

This is just decreasing my desire to save money to buy some packs. No thank you.

They arent…it are the stupid laws in aplods country
It was already ,illegal,…but unnoticed because CP servers were so small
Now with the big servers of BC it gets noticed

I don’t quite know what laws you are speaking about. Do you?

This is really questionable, as it cites no source and the website is not exactly the most well known, but it might provide some light?

pretty sure it doesn’t break the terms of service, because although the work isn’t mine it’s not stealing their property as it was made to be read.
I did some more digging and I found this

Now I do recognise that this bill was only passed 6 hours ago and aplod was removed or whatever 2 days ago, but hopefully this might clear some stuff up.
Somebody prove me wrong please, I really want this to be a dev problem because that means it’s fixable.

Still, any informative comment on the issue would be nice. We’re wandering in the dark here.

Also, as I’ve already told smwhere here, Duelyst is the only CCG banned in Russia as of now. So I do not believe it to be some problem with Russian laws, though we may be told otherwise.

I’m moving to Ukraine next week, I’m going to contact support from there, we’ll see if anything changes.

Alright good luck!
I’m over in Australia so I wouldn’t really know much, but I do take an interest in laws etc so I’ll do what I can to help.
