New Vetruvian artifact, what do you guys think about it?

well after i looked up the definition of obdurate, this was very similar to my prediction. its like a mini-mechanist… actually its more like a mini dawns eye

vet took dawns eye and broke it into 3 pieces

please let there be an easter egg where if you have 3 obdurators equipped, they merge into a dawns eye

Looks cool. Makes Sajj’s artifacts even more “remove instantly or suffer”

Exited to see this plus aegis barrier, maybe artifacts can actually last long now

its just support for OTK vet. with this you can pre-equip some artifacts with less worry that theyll be pinged off over several turns… also you can basically smack with artifacts effectively without losing charges…

didnt see it said “start of your turn”. its trash

I understand that, but I don’t think the +1 damage is worth more than the ‘take no damage’ effect that Iris Barrier provides (and you don’t want to run both of these together).

Funny enough, I too did not see the ‘start of turn’ clause. Now my opinion of it is even worse. :frowning:

Edit: I feel like this artifact says ‘play defensively.’ It makes it a little harder for your opponent to get value off of their minions for going fact (since you can now kill healthier minions that attack you). Restoring 1 durability just means your opponent is better off going all in or not at all. More reason it’s a more defensive card.

it makes artifacts more durable, so if you have that, iris barrier, and some super strong artifact like hexblade then its actually pretty hard to remove since you basically need 3 pings to face in one turn. it could be low key staple in artifact lists… at the very least theres some reliquerian memes to be had

If the effect applied at the end of turn, it would be a good card. As it is, I fear it’s bad, but let’s see what the Vetruvian experts have to say about it

Its terrible. The repair durability part means very little, since you expect artifacts to not last long enough to get back to your turn. While the +1 attack is also not good. If you want an artifact with +attack for 2 mana then Staff of Y’kir is the way to go (plus its a free basic card).

The only real saving grace it might have is that Wildfire Ankh already exists. A 3 attack blast isn’t too bad and since you be maintaining distance if you can with that then it has some hope of your opponent not destroying it. But Artifact Vet needs more than this to become a reality.

I disagree with the Ankh suggestion; You dont remain far away for long enough for it to be worth it, not even with Staff’s extra damage.

The bonus behind this artifact is not the artifact in itself, but that it is in itself a cheap artifact, and that it may help people pull off Tears + Maelstorm combo more often.

Say for example you’re playing some kind of control deck, with lots of Bone Swarm and Rasha’s Curse and Zephyr. If you focus on killing their minions, making it harder for them to ping you, having this and Aegis Barrier will ensure you can stall for time until you have enough mana to combo.

Strong. With memes like mirrorim, meditate and trial and destiny, this will be very annoying for vet since all these new 1-2 mana enablers may ultimately restrict how much ping you can do each turn.

It’s just a Vet meta, and were living in it.

This card is a great addition to Sajj’s arsenal, that specialized in destroying enemy minions. With additional +1 Attack, that would increase her destructive power to +6 Health minions (combo with BBS) and with 2 mana, it can online as early as T1. Not to mention can be combined with old-school Time+Tear.

It’s also great in Cypharon, BBSed +2attack enemy minion, smacked it and live for another day; assuming there’s only enemy general alive on the battlefield. it could be used as stall card until the Paradigm came online.

A question though, if you have 3 Obdurator equipped, that means for the start of your turn, it would fully repair all durabilities?

I mean, at most you’d want 2 equip not three since artifacts only have 3 hp

Playing this on curve with Iris Barrier and Hexblade could be dangerous

the fuck did i craft iris barrier then?
