New Mechanic - Trial and Destiny!
Hey Duelyst fans! We have one more mechanic coming out with Trials of Mythron: Trial and Destiny.
Trial and Destiny is a paired keyword mechanic that will be featured on a brand new card rarity: Mythron Rarity!
We have a lot to cover, so settle in as we discuss the new rarity and then follow up with the new mechanic.
Mythron Rarity
We have a new shiny rarity being introduced with Trails of Mythron - the Mythron Rarity!
These are bonus cards you can obtain from opening Trials of Mythron packs. Much like the Seven Sisters, these cards are added to your collection after accomplishing a feat - you can obtain all Mythron cards from the Trials of Mythron set for free!
After opening your first Trial of Mythron orb (and every 10 orbs afterward) you will receive an additional Mythron card from this set directly into your inventory. You cannot obtain a Mythron card you already have, and once you have obtained all 7 they will no longer drop.
In other words, you'll get a free Mythron card when you open 1, 11, 21, 31, etc until you have collected all seven, with the option to craft any of those you want immediately.
This rarity also features some unique rules!
- Since these are bonus cards, Mythron Rarity cannot be found directly in orbs.
- You can only have ONE Mythron Rarity card in your deck.
- To clarify, you cannot have one Faction and one Neutral Mythron card in a deck; you can only have ONE of this rarity.
These cards still take up a normal card slot. -
Mythron Rarity cards are craftable for 1200 spirit and these cards CANNOT be disenchanted.
You can do this if you wish to obtain a specific Mythron card immediately.
Trial and Destiny
The new mechanic Trial and Destiny is a paired mechanic, meaning there are two components to these cards.
The first part is the Trial condition - this describes an objective that must be met before you can play the card. Until the Trial has been met, the card cannot be played.
Once the Trial has been satisfied, the card is now unlocked and can be played for its Destiny. The effect mentioned under Destiny is a permanent augment to your match for the entire duration of the game.
There are other notes for Trial and Destiny!
- At the start of your match, your Trial and Destiny card will be removed from your deck.
It will be added to your Action Bar after the mulligan phase.
This will be the sixth card in your Action Bar (it does not take up a slot from your opening hand). - Trial and Destiny cards are locked into your action bar until you satisfy the Trial condition.
- These cards can never be replaced and you cannot play them until you've completed the Trial.
- Once a Trial is complete, the card remains unlocked for the duration of the game, even if the condition is no longer met.
You only have to complete a Trial once, making the card playable anytime afterward. - Activating a Destiny effect works very similar to Opening Gambit, in that it only applies when you summon the card from your Action Bar.
- You can only activate each Destiny once per game.
- Once activated, a Destiny cannot be removed or dispelled.
Killing or removing the Trial card will not affect a player's Destiny. - All Trial and Destiny cards are of Mythron rarity and therefore you can only include one into your deck
Now that you've caught up, we'll be showcasing one of these cards for the remainder of this spoiler season week. We're all very excited to bring forth this new content to the world of Duelyst and can't wait to see how you guys will shape the game with the new Trial and Destiny cards!
