Immortal Vanguard - Magmar PupaBomb

IMG_0856

This looks like a Ragnora staple to me! On top of being like Holy Immolation with the BBS, you are literally using a baby canon. That is metal as heck.

I don’t like this. Magmar already has good AoE in Makantor. They don’t need a general specific Holy Immolation.

Probably because if they named it “Egg Bomb,” Nintendo will probably start suing, especially after that last boss fight :stuck_out_tongue:

So now Magmar has a good makantor, and a situational, but also good makantor

Makantor… He is literally sacrificing his son for our sins. Praise to the church.

Be Careful, they might give Makantor the Rebirth keyword.
Or Makantor pup.

Both of those would be scary with or without the upcoming Egg-support.

This card looks pretty solid though, now we just need a few more Rebirth minions (But I’m sure those are coming)

100% better designed than Holy Immolation; but what’s 0 * 100 anyway…

In all seriousness, this card WOULD have been a personally fine welcome. With a Rex on board, or trading off your Silithar, this would lead to pupabomb being a followup card. Playing against/around expected eggs in this manner WOULD have been interesting. Both players would feel satisfaction in trading or playing to elude the card.

But with the new general BBS now…it’s just another Holy Immolation copy. Drop egg, drop HI.

It even does damage to all enemies.

(One scratch, this card doesn’t keep your minion alive, so just a worse HI knockoff with what will be the same style of drop and play fun that HI has long brought.)

The thing is, if the Magmar General’s BBS is not active, cards like this and Inceptor are pretty much useless. I can see people playing around the Egg combos by anticipating when Ragnora BBS is up, just like they would with Faie. As for lategame combos… I can’t help you there.

Agreed that this can be pretty scary and maybe even a bit too strong (like Holy Immo).
While I’d argue that you’re sacrificing a minion, it is an Egg placed next to enemy minions. It wouldn’t last the next turn anyway. So you’d be placing Eggs specifically for this effect… or running a Silithar into something and then blowing it up, which seems more of an Abyssian thing to do.

I’m really hoping Magmar can get cards this expansion that allow them to do something that isn’t ‘go face, go face, go face’. Idle hope with the direction the game is going, but hope nonetheless. I’d love to play a bit more defensively sometimes.

Metal or mental?

Also, I though about puppy bomb at first (you know, Warpup).

This does damage to all types of enemies so that’s 12 possible dame to a generals face. Not to mention you attk with the MInion it dies then u use this. A more face centric egg deck I see

I like the design of this card to help support eggs, although I hope we see more cards that generates eggs onto the field like Valknu and Chrysalis Burst.
