Dustdrinker and Riftwalker. My dumbest meme yet. need help

step 1: Summon drinker/walker close to you and safe from
step 2: Move it close to him, Synaptic Arbitrage even if it means you get nothing.
step 3: superior mirage into 9 damage/ superior mirage into 4 mana reusable, 5+ damage makantors.

I was initially gonna call it honeytrap zirix
but now I kinda want to call it doublecuck zirix
edit:
this is unironically the best iteration so far. Most of my doublecuck decks had these problems:

  • lacking space for removals
  • being unable to draw the right cards
  • golems being very useless bodies and hand bricks at around 5 mana
so i had this crazy idea. screw the golem suite, i’m just gonna put more draw and removal.

behold, control doublecuck zirix. wraith, stars fury, and BOA combined is enough to reset any lost ground from early game. most of my draw now comes from spells, which is great because i can use abjudicator both on my combo cards and draw/cycle  the consistency of having mass removal and stall at midgame replaces the annoying feeling of having a lone metallurgist with no dreamshaper on my hand.
Current WR: 3-1 :joy: been dropping some really dumb lethals
best part is the 3 wins came from the trifecta:
Ragnora
Wanderer
Fault Vet

Trying out alternatives to riftwalker. I figured Khannum kha might be good. it might cost more mana, but it is a good control option, and it gives me better reasons to run the golem suite early game (though I’m open to getting rid of golems again)

@elahn 's faster variant felt pretty great. The damage output is pretty solid, especially when I added a star’s fury, and the cycle was pretty decent. I did kind of wonder if i can put in burden of knowledge without getting myself killed so i tried aethermaster. and since i was getting rid of the self damage. Aethermaster gave me a pretty solid cycle.I figured I might was well include the replace suite, since it gives me such a solid damage. That’s when I saw something truly powerful:
White Widow. Arbitrage. Superior Mirage+Aethermaster. Replace. 12 damage distributed in RNG 2 damage-pings. 3 bodies to remove next turn.

There’s still plenty of room for improvement here, but this the deck is solid as it is right now. The draw, the tempo, the combo, the removal, the deck has a bit of all of them.

Icicle and Alpha built a list like that. Not sure where it is right now but you could ask @icicle for it

That’s pretty clever.

So I think I have the start of something. Due to the cost and random nature of Mirage, I removed Riftwalker(If you really want that damage tick, consider Flameblood Warlock. Combos with Iris & Falcius as well). The deck basically allows you a quick burn through to maximize your draw chances. Allowing a GG as early as T6 with lucky draw. The chances of playing 3 Dustdrinkers before you play Mirage for the game ending combo is actually pretty high. Just that managing to get both Arbitrage and Mirage can be a tad challenging. Doesn’t matter much considering how fast you draw and the amount of low cost minions you have. From T1 try to get an Iris Barrier. Or atleast save your Burden and Dreamgazer if you have a Falcius. Honestly, I think you can switch out Sandswirl for Blood of Air, you really shouldn’t need something that high cost for a Dustdrinker hand return, but it can possibly tip the tides for that last damage drop. Just some quick grade school math below for easy GG predictions in game:

4 Dustdrinkers played = 10 damage
5 Dustdrinkers played = 15 damage
6 Dustdrinkers played = 21 damage

Keeping track will let you decide if you should aim for Mirage/Arbitrage combo or smash heads with enemy general.

I think you meant “clusterfuck of nuclear bombs”. I played a friendly with @cloudfrog and no amount of beef could stick to the board.

Hahaha. Aptly named. I went for precision I guess. I was worried about losing the damage on the general.

Thanks! maybe the iris barrier is the answer to me losing out too much on health.
just wanna run a couple of things by before i try it:
what’s dreamgazer for?

so important vs aymara :frowning:

Just a free burn of three cards, provided you have Iris or Falcius. Most satisfying combo-

T1>Iris Barrier>Replace Dreamgazer>Burden=Full hand and artifact at end of turn. Plus three less cards in your deck.

On a side note, just did a test, Flawless Reflection works on Riftwalker… if only Dustdrinker was Neutral.

huh, didn’t know dreamgazer gets spent when you summon it. I always thought it shuffled back

yupyup  intensify and bond procs on transform
a real shame coalfist is a “this turn” effect, would have worked so well with pandamonium

here’s my control-oriented take, though i have to say I’d probably be better off changing the duskdrinker portion of the deck into the the khannum kha suite

If you give a Riftwalker to opponent, do they gain an intensify stack?

If you return a mirage minion, do you get a mirage or normal minion in hand?

Donating Intensify minions doesn’t increase the stack for your opponent. Returning minions to the action bar always gives the base version of the card, without any of the buffs or debuffs it may have accrued while on the board.

what @nh3maser said.
btw, look out for when your opponent scroll bandits your superior mirage and uses it on your dustdrinker

man, maybe riftwalker might be better in there though. for a control deck it doesn’t have much going on. Still, it’s nice to know that i can arbitrage-mirage gust then bloodblound into 6 dervishes. the extra jank is real nice xD

I found @icicle 's decklist in his imgur album  I really like it!
though this one leans more towards sabotage cyphron, and the meme is just a side thing that could be done. Still, i think i can tweak this to m̶a̶k̶e̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶s̶e̶ lean towards intensify.
and he’s got some really solid points to this deck that I’m getting!

  • Spelljammer might help with mirrorim.
  • Grapnel. just Grapnel. I really should be crafting that. it could really circumvent boa
  • orbrider. Idk if it was icicle, but this does remind me of a guy on ladder who would re-use grapnel to turn my swarm against me.
