Dustdrinker and Riftwalker. My dumbest meme yet. need help

And I want a link to that replay.

additional notes:

  • I found that using synaptic arbitrage to give dustdrinker for literally nothing is very important. opponents tend to trade it with the minion you just stole.
  • When I risk losing duskdrinker because he’ll be in face-range, I can Cyphron bbs the newly relinquished dustdrinker. That way, it won’t be able to attack at all. Sadly, that shit dont work for riftwalker

You might want to just spectate. Dooly replays break whenever I use orbrider or Sandswirl

maybe mirrorim is just straight up garbage  I can shuffle 6 copies, but even with a blazehound first wish, spelljammer dreamshaper setup, they don’t pop up often enough. I guess it’s really meant for decks that have tutor.

In my experience Mirrorrim is indeed unreliable and disappointing in any draw scenario that isn’t extreme Starhorn Tectonic Spikes Seismoid
You need tutors, and tutors are f*cking seldom in Duelyst.

man, looking at this list, the problem isn’t the scarcity of tutors, it’s that the tutors don’t synergize with 99% of these cards. deceptibot doesn’t tutor fast enough. you wouldn’t want to tutor alarmist. what sort of psychopath would put more duplicates of replicant? the mana-for-stats is so shit. radiant standard is 3 durability for 3 copies :frowning:

i guess second self really is the way to go. stupid faction exclusive -_-

Mirrorim is a pretty bad card in general, but I have gotten it to work in one deck: budget Lyonar Mechs. The play sequence summon Mechaz0r -> Mirrorim it -> Lifestream out another copy is very strong in the midgame. And using Mirrorim on Replicant actually is a fine play, since 2 mana for a 2/2 is perfectly acceptable if it doesn’t cost you a card! Compare to Sun Wisp or Endless Hunt.

it’ll cost you several replaces per game though

  • you’re forced to replace all the second replicant you draw
  • the third replicant is a brick
  • you risk getting a replicant if you replace something else (it happens, a lot)
  • you’re giving up hand for
and its value as a deck thinner is gone once you play mirrorim on it. and don’t even get me started with how bad of a P2 opener replicant is. you also have to consider how sun wisp can let you topdeck game-saving cards like holy immolation, and play it immediately, whereas using replicant does not increase the number of hand cycles.

unless you’re using it for hand-size synergy(theobule, the high hand) or taking advantage of the mech tribal synergy(metaltooth-chakram, oakenheart, silver, project omega), I see no reason to play this minion.

p.s. sry man, i’ve played replicant for so long, and i’ve become way too familiar when replicant causes my downfall. on a meme note, consider making a variant that has magnetize and project omega. I mean, your deck is built for it already.

pss: careful with double mechazor. idk if you know already, but mechazor switches sides if you put another one on the board.

I understand the downsides, and I’m certainly not advocating running Replicant in every deck, but in the list I presented (which does have Mech tribal synergies) it works pretty well. I understand that the last copy is good for nothing but replace fodder, but once you’re down to that last copy you’d have to be pretty unlucky to draw back into it too many more times. Plus, it provides an emergency backup plan for the lategame - normally Mirrorim and Replicant are both dead cards if you draw them late, but if you combine them together you can spend a decent turn swarming the board with no card disadvantage.

Also, I’ve played a fair amount of Mechs in my time and I’ve never seen Mechaz0r switch sides when you play another one. In fact, you even have decks which can do stuff like this (thanks of course to the inimitable Zohan), and none of the Mechaz0rs there have turned quisling.

I watched Zohan summoning more than 1 Mechaz0r with nothing like that happening.

The same with lifestream decks played by Scarzig.

Though I saw your screenshots, not sure what bugged it.

nice board. How did he get around the 10 card action limit?

never summoned a double mechazor without it going rogue before. maybe they did finally fix it, or maybe it’s a nighmare operant thing.
here’s the thead if you’re interested:

@boronian idk either, but i think @eurasianjay knows?

p.s. gotta thank the devs for the cursor indicator. I could feel my past self’s disbelief over what just happened.

also synaptic arbitrage into mirage master is the most disappointing synergy in the world. i thought it’d be a nice follow-up to superior mirage, but it wasn’t :joy: i just end up using it as an 8 mana: give a copy of a minion to your enemy

Replicant can be used as a simple plus 1 in decks that find other draw options like L’Kian or Spelljammer too low tempo.

You don’t always have to replace the replicant as sometimes playing it’s brother and then replacing the final sibling is also quite solid as it allows ypu to build a board while losing minimal cards.

The actual restriction is playing 10 cards without doing damage, and damage to your own minions counts. Since each new Mechaz0r is pinged by all the Kujatas, nothing is violated.

This is why I meme. I pray to the sweet god overlord of Duelyst that if we ever see another expansion, they have seen atleast a few decks and that has inspired combo cards. I’d much rather play combos I enjoy than play meta just to grind to S.

Conspiracy Theory: Decklists is just an idea pool for new expansions.

And the best part is how there’s plenty of friends to make with meme decks. people actually like you for playing scarzig. lately people have just been adding me to tell me that “vet is bullshit and boring” -_-

i had the best game ever. summoned 2 wasteland wraiths
switcheroo meme didn’t work out, but 3 superior mirages on khannum kha feels great.

edit: aww i missed the opportunity to burn at least 27 cards from his deck

Does that restriction apply to minion cards as well?

Yes, any 10 cards. Realistically it’s very hard to come up against the limit in normal play, but it could happen for instance in something like Alphacentury’s OTK Vet fliers.

I read what you had to offer.
Didn’t understand the significance.
I haven’t watched a replay in ages.
