Come on, support team

I’ve encountered a bug of the vanar trial progress reset after completed, submitting to the support and they replies that Oak in the nemeton can only be played when you have at least 5 tokens on the battle field, so even if you completed the trial at last turn, you still not allow to play it if your opponent clears your board. It obviously contradicted with the trial mechanism “Once a Trial is complete, the card remains unlocked for the duration of the game, even if the condition is no longer met.”

Plz play the game, support team.

Indeed that’s weird. I though that one only requires to have the 5 tokens at the same moment at some point of the game to fulfill the Trial. Requiring the summoning of Oak with the 5 tokens on the fields sounds highly inconsistent with respect to all the other trials…

I honestly don’t see a problem. Oak’s Trial reads “Have 5 token minions with different names,” rather than something like “Had 5 token minions with different names” or “Summoned 5 token minions with different names.” The text specifically implies that all 5 minions must be on board for Oak to unlock.

An easy comparison to make is with Grand Strategos, whose Trial reads “Summon 12 minions with 1 or less Attack,” thus meaning that all 12 minions does not necessarily have to be alive for Strategos to unlock, they just have to be summoned.

Also note that it is the Destiny of Mythron minions that are permanent, while it was never implied that Trial progression was too. Oak is the only Mythron minion whose Trial is a passive condition rather than a linear progression, and thus can always be reset regardless of how close it is to completion.

@halcyon98, I guess you misinterpret the answer.

You should be able to summon a trial minion if the trial was completed at least at some point of a match.

E.G. Using mirrorim or Meditate in a Wanderer deck doesn’t suddenly make the Trial unarchieved if the deck at some point had 1 copy of each card.

Mythron Wanderer must’ve slipped under my radar. I did always think Wanderer’s Trial was a little odd, however, as logic would say that its Trial should reset with cards like Mirrorim or Meditate, for the same reason as above. Perhaps the bug lies in Wanderer, and not Oak?

Also, the issue may have something to do with exactly when the Trial is completed. While Oak’s Trial obviously needs to be completely during a match, Wanderer’s Trial may be completed before a match even starts. If so, would that difference in coding hold any significance? I have no clue, but we may be on to something.

Yeah, i have no problem with your logic, trial cards can work like that, but considering the balance, permanent completed trial will be better.

NOSE also works similar to wanderer where you just need to have gotten to the other end with artifact at some point, you can summon NOSE anytime.

I’ll have to agree to that. Oak is horribly underpowered and needs a rework. :expressionless:

Cause it says “reach” and not “be”

Sounds like a bug. Never had any reset problems though.

Edit: Here is a game working properly unlike yours :expressionless:

Before trial complete.
N1

After trial complete. (Summoned trent)

Opponent removes Howler. 4 tokens left.

Can still summon Nemeton
N4

I suppose I got this wrong then. I still do think the wording is misleading though.

Hey @vbcfbhc, please keep the correspondence with the Support team private, in the sense that you can post about their answer, but not copy-pasta it or provide any sensitive information (personal and account information, reimbursements, compensations, etc.)
Will ask the others about this, don’t worry

Ok sorry, i was just kinda angry to receive such a reply, but that’s not the first time. Many replies i’ve got make me feel that your support team don’t even know what this game is, they just check what’s written on the cards and make up an explain that fit the circumstance.
I’m just so frustrated about how unreliable the official team is, if your people really don’t know if my reports are real bugs or some misunderstanding, plz at least go to ask a dev before reply.

In the replay it looks like you could play the trial.

That is because he can, I played Memetown before, I know my stuff!

Here is OP’s replay highlight.

All seems fine. Opponent reduced a few token but trial is still complete…

… then after a trade… what the Thicket happened? :confounded:

Assuming the replay can be trusted and not a display bug then this is weird.

Oh by the way, when this bug happen the game will show “we hit a snag” and reconnect, which can’t be seen in replay

That is why.
