Winterblade x Iceshatter Gauntlet does not kill Obelysks

Having both Winterblade and Iceshatter Gauntlet I can proc Iceshatter without needing to freeze the minion beforehand. At least that is how I have seen it work since today.

Today I found out that Winterblade Iceshatter Gauntlet combo does not kill Obelysks but just freeze them. It maybe because they are a structure and can’t counter attack or it could be because it has zero attack, but something about it messes up Iceshatter Gauntlet effect.

I tried it in practice mode as well. Same results, minions die and Obelysks just freeze.
The order in which I equip the artifacts doesn’t seem to affect the combo.

I have my doubts but could it be that this interaction is meant to work that way?

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. equip both Winterblade and Iceshatter Gauntlet
  2. attack an Obelysk
  3. end with frozen Obelysk instead of dead Obelysk

Winterblade freezes AFTER dealing damage.

My bad, I was mixing Winterblade x Iceshatter with Winterblade x Resonance Scythe.
I even tested W x IG when IG was released and knew that it did not work as I wished.
Just a brain fart. Thanks @epicflygon for clearing that up for me.

I don’t know who to ask but the topic has been answered and can be locked.

Btw, I tried all the interactions with winterblade and long story short it doesn’t work the way we want it to so don’t run it.
