pretty much any burn deck has good matchup against wanderer Rag and Lil.
Wanderer people hear my call
@epicflygon Wanderer has done something to you and I don’t like it. You’ve become very defensive and treat wanderer like it’s the saviour of humanity. You need to relax, different people have different opinions. I shouldn’t be catching you preaching the blessings of wanderer in half the top threads on this forum. FYI, Wanderer is not good objectively because no deck is, treating it as such is making you look like an idiot and I know you’re smarter and more mature than that. Calm down and bring back the old flygon.
This is the same Flygon, Wanderer has made me enjoy the game again, it truly captures the most pure form of the most interactive and fair deck. This deck is strong and powerful but never felt bad to play with or against, I truly love decks lile these and is why Wanderer and Midrange Faie are the only 2 decks I play right now. This old Flygon you speak of is the same one, my overall tone my have shifted but that’s because I never had one in the first place, it was a slow decent into sadness but this deck finally made me feel good.
I don’t understand why people wouldn’t like this, people have always and will always complain about the new, interms of card games it’s the new meta decks and staples but people always complain about new technology interms of real life. People complain about this deck because it beats them, there is no inherent unfairness allbeit ramping it out isn’t fair but the complaint threads rarely mention how you can ramp it out and if they do it’s more of an after thought because of this people complain because it’s too good but all they need to do is adapt and learn.
Fair point. Counter argument:
I don’t like the bad triangle man
you can’t adapt for a deck full of staples from 3 different decks.
That’s what I think. Speaking about wanderer Lil, which is not even at the top of the meta.
there are very few cards you need to play specifically around, dancing blades and a few different damage thresholds come to mind, but it is mostly just playing well and relying on their lack of specific answers to threats that allow for beating wanderer.
Oh you definitely can, I have never had any trouble with it even when it’s not a Wanderer mirror.
Infact I usually have quite the easy time against Wanderer with Vanar.
You know, the Triangle Man is ment to be you.
While I don’t run wanderer because it’s just too much clicking in the deck builder and the deck lists are unreadable, I actually like facing them because I also think it’s a fair challenge - Fair in the sense that it’s based on every core principle of the game: Board use, power ramp, collection listing, card replacement, available to all factions, newcomers / free-to-play accessible…
In that mindset I’m really okay with the actual card being slightly overtuned, I wouldn’t like if it was nerfed enough to exit the competitive meta.
I’m much more puzzled when very specialized one-trick-pony decks come to dominate the game, I feel those are sort of toxic.
Here’s a picture of a cute animal to help everyone feel happier in this thread:
Wanderer decks require an equal amount of clicking.
But your point perfectly explains why I love this card.
I can’t let you say that, you need to flip so many pages, and scroll the decklist like kilometers up and down.
Too. Much. Work!
You could just search… which is a lot easier than regular deck building imo.
In the end, you realize the real triangle man are the friends you made along the way
I gathered a bunch of data about Wanderer matchups and the ridiculous shit they pulled. It taught me a lot about the way games play out, and the way their decks have to be constructed to succeed.
I still hate them, but a lot of their victories come from playing conservatively in order to keep low cost tempo cards in hand to refill the board after you clear it.
Removal cards in the game are tuned to handle specific stat blocks of minions, and wanderer completely tosses those tweaks out. That means your removal has less value, and that if they can replenish an empty board with slightly buffed minions, or throw a hasty meatboi on the table to get that last chunk of health, they’ll come out on top.
I still hate the deck, and it has an abnormally high winrate (There wouldn’t be as many players in S playing it if that wasn’t the case), but I no longer think it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to the game.
Did you use the list on the power rankings?
;p
Nope, my own brew. I rarely netdeck, I mostly use such lists as an inspiration. And also I have a problem with reading Wanderer lists
The list I’m speaking of is here:
Nice!
Wanderer has the same problem as old Variax, It is perfectly fine if played on curve but it gets out of hand if when it gets ramped. Possible solutions include the Variax treatment i.e. increasing its cost (will quite possibly kill Wanderer for factions without ramp), Nerfing its stats, and simply making it unrampable. I personally would prefer the last option but I doubt that will happen.
As for countering Wanderer there are actually quite a few ways to do that including Artifact decks (One-woman army Reva), Aggro and Burn decks, Decks with better lategame than Wanderer that can reliably achieve said lategame (Fault) and lastly decks that can Snowball/out Tempo Wanderer (the only decks I’m aware of that reliably do this are Pantheran Vet and Arcanyst decks). The main problem is if you can’t abuse one of Wanderer’s weaknesses (which almost every midrange deck in the game cannot do) he will just steamroll you with Statsticks.
Must feel awful when you can see duelyst grow amiright?
I am always happy to see new people… even when they play meta decks.
