Wanderer decks piss me off!

Just what the title says.

I ALWAYS lose against Wanderer Ragnora or Reva. And I even don’t know what to do, there’s no tech for such decks!

They also seem to have perfect answer for anything I play.

That damned statsticks running around and such. What should I do?

Play control Vanar, they seem to have a pgood match-up.

Play Gate. Seriously, wanderer decks only have a handful if ways to get rid of it while it is building. My crazy gate Deck had a positive winrate against both of them.

The downside of the above advice is rather obvious so take it at your own risk.

Yeah, gate decks suck against aggro Vet who is another pain in the Ass. If only gate could save its build counter when bounced…

You still need Gate to survive for two whole turns to use Timekeeper, which is 97% impossibru against Vet

That’s what DFS’s for bb

If only it was that simple, chances on Gate surviving even one turn against Vet is pretty slim and the chances you will have DFS and double Timekeeper in hand if it does survive are even less :pensive:

breath of the unborn is really good pre-wanderer. and chakram is really god post-wanderer.

sentinels are great tech too. you’ll almost always going to get something good if you play tormentor and you’re sure he’s not going to drop wanderer.

feels bad cause i have no prob with wonderer decks

Wanderer is strong with minion bbs generals because the buff gives you a strong endgame, so you win the long game. Playing endgame Abyssian decks (Gate or Variax) or other Mythron decks with a better endgame (basically all of them) can often do them in.

Wait, is Wanderer that Trial minion that says you can’t have duplicates in your deck?

I thought it was a cruel joke, and I think many people think it was a joke as well when he was first revealed. If people are actually figuring out how to use him, and in the higher ranks as well, color me surprised.

I’m surprised too, but that 1/1 buff matters.

1/2 eggs. 2/2 hearthseekers. 2/2 wraithlings, 4/7 dancing blades, 5/6 thunderhorns. I can go on and on…

Add the possibility of playing it early in several factions.

@sonofmakuta has made competitive highlander decks in the past so it was kinda easy to predict how strong he woupd be if you knew that.

it is definately a good deck, I won melee with it on saturday, and the other finalist was also playing it, 1/1 is a massive buff when it is to everything, and if you are good at deckbuilding/piloting then you can get around the consistancy thing, although it is definately a challenge to be optimal with it.

While I have faced Wanderer like 2 times, I think you should focus on the 1-of part of those decks. They can’t reliably answer threats in the way usual decks do and they can’t reliably combo, so playing more agressively should help.

i find 8 gates to beat most wanderer lists since you can ignore board past 6 mana and outrace with dank burn combos :fire:

I don’t think I’ve lost to wanderer since entering s with my gates list

I have been trying Steal Abyss against wanderer, knowing that when I steal a card, its gone for good.

Yeah my life became better when I started playing gates.

The best strategy against Mithron decks is playing other Mithron decks or just go aggro.

In the case of Wanderer, the +1/+1 buff is really good and reminds me why Kara was nerfed. On the downside, Wanderer decks may have troubles at finding consistent answers to your threats, so playing proactively is a good choice. I believe this is important in general and particularly in this meta
