I assume this is strictly when purchasing with diamonds? Ain’t a big issue to me, but I’m gonna play the devil’s advocate anyhow. Are there any plans to introduce sales for in game currency?

The argument for diamonds was that they could do sales. Not really sure why it shouldn’t be possible with gold but that is what they said.

I had originally interpreted this to mean they could do sales for purchasing the new currency type, as opposed to buying the game products themselves.

I have no doubt it is possible for them to do orb gold cost sales, but to be honest there’s little reason to do this. Gold expenditure does not profit the company at all, and incentivizing using gold will make using real money less appealing. However, giving more cards to players will increase the likeliness they will play for longer periods of time (until they have too many cards and no longer have a reason to grind for content so…).

I understand the business decision but the way they phrased it when diamonds were introduced was strange. Because one of the advantages of the new currency is according to them that now they could do sales (which before was not possible).

I have no problems with diamonds. I think it is a win / win situation for both sides if implemented correctly. And for that there should be an option to use leftover diamonds in a certain way.

They already held 2 diamond sales the last months.

Ugh even more awkward numbers. I will gladly sink more money into the game if the price of diamonds ever matches the price of orbs.
