Tapping an orb on the pack opening screen causes the game to become unresponsive.

Unable to open packs
It seems that trying to tap and drag the orb causes a freeze followed by a crash. However, you can still open packs by tapping once on the pack.
I did try that and it froze too but maybe I held too long and it thought it was a drag.
having similar issue. game freezes and then goes to a white screen.

Can confirm, dragging the orb to open it now works on iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6S.
