Please look at this guy:
If frenzy was so good with Sajj wouldn’t you be seeing a bit more of him?
Trials of Mythron: Notion of Starless Eternity
So, this trial is a lot different from the other ones. Compared to a typical 5 drop, I don’t even think it’s as strong as Lavaslasher or Sandswirl reader. However, the trial aspect might even work in the favour of this card.
Since the trial so so easy to do (it could even be possible before 5 mana), you essentially get to draw an extra card at the start of the game. That seems pretty good, but without a way to abuse the ability, it’s probably wasted. With one artifact, a 5 mana 3/3 that gives frenzy is crap. Zephyr does that for 3. 2 artifacts is where it starts to get interesting. Flying with blast is a potent combo, and slap on some attack buffs/oblivion sickle and you are golden. At 3 artifacts, you are pretty much an overpowered version of Artifact Reva. If one of them is wildfire ankh, you are pretty untouchable outside of Burn Songhai.
The downside, of course, is EMP and pings, which are more plentiful than ever. This is probably the only Trial that gets countered by EMP. EMP can burn in a hole.
However, as with all the other trials, we have to see what else we get before jumping to conclusions. Maybe we get some way to equip a bunch of artifacts at once. Maybe we get some other card that benifits from you walking to the other side. Who knows. As it stands, all the trials are waiting on support in this set.
- Magmar wants cheap attack buffs
- Vanar wants ways to get many different tokens
- Abyssian wants sacrifice spells
- Songhai just wants minions that don’t suck
Also forgot to mention that Artifact Sajj still needs healing. Please get your waifu ensured today.
The problem with this card is that trying to reach the other side of the map could easily be a huge tempo loss, big enough to make you consistently loose the game.
The more i watch those mythron cards the more it looks impossible to put them in competitive decks.
The main problem of this guy is that 3/3 is a horrible body, definitely too easy to remove.
Frenzy is a strong effect, it’s becoming permanent and it’s not coming alone with this card. I don’t know if the card is good enough for competitive play, but it’s fun and a nice trick to use, because you are not forced to fulfill the Trial to make your deck work in this case
I don’t think your strategy should be to push for reaching the edge. If the game lets you move towards it, you can get a strong effect just by playing this card.
This card is not your win condition, it just packs a powerful effect if you are in the right conditions to get it!
Abyssian wants swarm support. There are plenty of sacrifice spells already.
Then its not worth sacrifice your 6th card slot in your hand in EVERY game.
That’s an interesting point, which applies to ALL the Mithron cards. How severe is playing with the 6th slot always filled?
This point has been overlooked so far. I can’t tell for sure how much of a handicap it is
I see it as a benifit. If you aren’t playing with/against starhorn, when are you really holding 6 cards?
You also get a 38 card deck, which, contrary to Kevin, is better due to consistency. If you do play the trial, you essentially started with 6 cards, which is quite strong.
I was really really hoping for the Vet Mythron dude to give support for dervishes rather than for artifacts, but well, whatever…
The Trial condition seems easier/quicker to reach compared to the other fellas, but Notion of Starless Eternity a.k.a. NoSE seems limited to an archetype that hasn’t exactly shined lately (ever?) and I really wonder if there will be some convincing reasons to play artifacts when the expansion will be published. Fingers crossed, but I’m pessimistic.
Neat, really easy to complete, but not a game winning effect. Flying is crazy strong, but unfortunately a touch redundant since your already going to be running tracer and or link to complete it. But I like it and can already see a couple solid decks working with it.
To activate the quest, you need to satisfy multiple conditions:
- being able to reach the opposite edge of the board
- having the mana to equip artifacts
- having the mana to play this cost-inefficient unit
- not having your artifacts broken
seemsgood
This myth isnt game ending, but its so easy to accomplish.
Step 1: summon the flying 1/4 golem that gives you a staff
Step 2: cast neurolink
Step 3: wheeeeeeeeee
Step 4: summon myth
Step 5:???
Step 6: profit
Profit=
Step 1: Equip a Wildfire Ankh, Oblivion Sickle
Step 2: Produce as many Exhuming Sand Tiles as possible while flying around
Step 3: Never get caught!
Backstab, Avalanche and Beam Shock will rise
so… between artihai and artisajj
who is going to be more annoying to catch?
Does its effect start at beginning or can you equip artifacts and instantly ascend?
Probably still reva… the BBS is better…
Prob sajj. Flying+celerity is something you know. Gonna make artihai run Artifact defiler
Precisely what I was thinking. The trek would be difficult in a lot of situations but Neurolink makes the prerequisite easy mode with a Flying deck. From there it’s just a matter of finding the artifacts.
