How do yall feel about a tournament where everyone builds decks with either or 3x serpenti, 3x paddo, or/and 3x lodestar. NO LONGER NEED TO LAND A FINISHING BLOW WITH THESE. ADDITION, spriggin

This is something I consider a better idea. I don’t enjoy the thought of forcing massive limitations on design, but telling players they must include something is better than denying them cards. It opens up decks that wouldn’t normally be played and creates interesting scenarios that would never see light of day otherwise.

Finishing blow idea is bad, because if you can’t find the 3rd copy or if your opponent kills them all it’s literally impossible to win.
And without that requirement you can just stick them in a meta deck and replace them wheneve you draw them, making the meme obsolete.
If you make the requirement ‘meme deck’ then some memes are better and more viable than others and you’re punished for going all out.
So no, I don’t think this could work.

Didn’t see the finishing blow part of the description (my reading comprehension is terribad today). I agree that this should not be the win condition.
That is a choice, you can run up to all three, or one of the three
We made finishing blow ‘work’ by having another requirement that you would lose the game if you kill your opponent’s serpenti or your own general. But that led to a bunch of confusing rules about who is responsible for an effect etc. (E.g. who’s responsible for battle pets/auto-triggering effects etc.) I think it was fun for some of the more experienced memers but newer players or non-lawyers who couldn’t follow the Byzantine ruleset. So use with caution? It was dope though.

So guys I have a super limited schedule due to a curveball thrown in my life for the next week or so, so Idk when I can host the tourney. In order to make if easier to play, i plan on making it where every match is one game to make it easier to join in without as much time to dedicate
