No monthly boss battle thread anymore?

@yaviey I wonder where the boss battle thread for December is. I wasn’t super happy about abolishing the weekly boss battle threads but do we get at least the monthly one or did that also get removed because your “time is supposed to be allocated elsewhere”? (Or am I so blind and can’t find it?)

There’s that legendary card called Alter Rexx, which gives you a Mechaz0r every time you play a Mechaz0r.

It used to be crap at 4/4, but it got buffed to 5/5 in the last patch. Seasoned players still recommend not crafting it.

Sure it’s not tier1, but it’s not bad after the buff and jackpoting on Mechaz0rs is so fun.

Played Moloki Huntress, put Gargantuan Growth on it. Had an amazing minion, was ready to win the game!

Played Flash Juggernaut! Got some good eggs though they got almost all cleared, no problem have a huge Juggernaut! Winning the game for sure!

Do you guys have an idea for a budget strategy to beat this boss?

Doesn’t swarm have a good time against him? At least at face value, I’m unable to experiment right now.

This boss is, like, the only reason to play Echoing Shriek (to prevent him from getting Obelysk buffs), but that’s not really budget. I didn’t test it because I have only 1 copy of Shriek.

Otherwise I’d go with Dancer, Priestess, Oculus, Gor and Chakram, something like that. I won with Aby Mech deck and didn’t replay after that.

Shadowatcher is also unironically good against bosses.

I thought the same that budget Abyssian is best budget deck here.

Unfortunately the boss plays Ephemeral Shroud and Blood of Air as you can see in my latest video. Shadowwatcher is weak to that but at some point they are running out of removal.

Defeated the boss with this budget deck but it wasn’t that easy. It has a lot of removal. 2 Blood of Air, 2 Draining Wave, 2 Ephemeral Shroud to answer Shadowdancer, Shadow Watcher, Bloodmoon Priestess. And Tempest to clear a lot of wraithlings.

Not sure the Crimson Oculus is really that great, it just died to Invader’s ability though if you play it before their BBS it grows a lot but Invader doesn’t play too many minions per turn anyways.

Chakram was great till Invader’s ability + tectonic spikes + makantor cleared it.

Maybe Gibbet could be interesting. Maybe Xerroloth for some more draw. I totally forgot Crypto. I think putting in Cryptos instead of Oculus should be best.
Wild Tahr should be there too because it just abuses the AI. Maybe instead of the BTA.

This is the refined version. Second try went way easier though they again had a lot of removal. But I felt also luckier with their RNG ability.

Oh, I totally forgot the SECRET TECH you should also be running - Comodo Hunter. Combos both with your General & Oculus (I think). Ironically, boss also plays Hunter against you.

Also, for your deck in particular I’d go with Vellum for draw because of low curve.

Another apporach you could take is Magmar OMA. Transform/Dispel Obelysks, boost your attack, take Frenzy Artifact, Forcefield from Lion maybe and SMASH.

Hand size and draw were not a problem. I also liked the additional Wraithling instead of killing one for some expensive draw.

Comodo Hunter is a good card here, that’s true. Don’t want to replace anything though.

The Magmar cards you suggested are epics.
