So, um, yea, Hi. I'm a new player

So… I am pretty much new both to the community and the game, in general, being serious I only found out about the game last week even tho it was released 2 years ago.

I’m a 16-year-old high school teen who likes taking photos of beautiful landscapes, playing some games as I’m not that much of a gamer, thinking about life, reading, more reading and more reading again ( i must really like books to read that much). I don’t have a favorite color.

Since I only started playing last week, I’m a new player among new players. I’m not really a talkative person (even irl) so you may rarely see me post about something, but know that I am here even if it doesn’t look like it.

I hope you can help me with the things I don’t understand (basically almost everything regarding duelyst meta) and in return, I will help you when you need to.

Welcome and my advice to you is…

Don’t worry about making misplays/mistakes.

Use the match replay system to learn from your matches or ask other players for advice when you want it. Don’t be scared to ask questions.

The meta doesn’t mean all that much until you hit gold (rank 10), since in Bronze you’re unlikely to play against decks that have a lot of cards that aren’t the basic ones. While in Silver misplays happen quite often and more non-meta decks are played there.

Core orbs have better drop rates.

You don’t need legendary cards to have a good deck.

You can get free stuff if you link your Duelyst and twitch account, and watch 30 mins of someone’s stream. You can do this every 48 hours.

Don’t worry about Boss Battles, if you are unable to do them. You aren’t losing out on too much if you can’t/don’t want to do them.

Need help choosing a faction and working within a budget? I am here to help. Choosing your faction comes down to play-style and theme preference. Each faction has their own flavor and leans towards either control, aggro, midrange, or combos. Whenever you start making your own decks, be sure to avoid having one of any cards in them.

All of them wrong except for alplod who is half wrong. Only play hai. Play magmar if you hate babies.

I’m not serious but this baby might be seriously dead if you play magmar.

Toasches is wrong, the only faction worth playing is Vanar.

Btw 1 ofs are fine but you have to think really hard about it, sadly @nowayitsj’s article went missing.

However Wanderer is the one meta deck that uses only 1 ofs as Wanderer is pretty good.

I forgot one more thing, new player. The end of the season is coming up so when that happens, all the god level players will be sent back to silver. If you want to learn and get better at the game, play during the beginning of the August season so you can face these players, otherwise avoid playing during the first week or so.

thanks everybody, those were amazing advices and currently im really liking this game and i really want to get good at it (this is something that almost never happens) so i’ll be playing a lot when i have time and i might really bother some people regarding help, more help, even more help, and some coaching cause this game is deep.
