Set Rotation Changes, how will they affect existing decks?

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help shed some light on the specifics of this as I’m a little concerned about how it will affect the game. I’m particularly worried about the removal of Shim Zar because i primarily play a creep deck in ranked and that would see practically all of the cards which make creep playable removed from ranked play.

Does anyone know if these sets will be rotated back in to ranked play at some point or are they in fact being removed rather than ‘rotated’?

Will we finally get the mythical casual game mode so that we can still play Shim Zar stuff like creep and battlepets for fun?

Finally i wanted to as if other people feel that this is necessary? It’s not that i expect the devs to cater to the few of us who only play a certain deck type but I just don’t see why this is needed. In larger games like MTG i can certainly see why a set rotation might be necessary but after 3 expansion and 2 mini expansions Duelyst still has a relatively small number of cards.

I know the next expansion could change everything but If anyone is able to clarify some of this for me i’d really appreciate it.

you can’t play them on ranked games but you get to keep them.
no news on new modes yet. they said there would be some though.
The decision is controversial with people divided on the topic. It has its ups and downs.

They might introduce a “Wild” casual mode where anything goes, but the Duelyst playerbase is small and I’m not sure if it could sustain that. Could have a few days a week where it’s active.

But they won’t consider casual mode when releasing new cards, so it’ll end up being full of broken stuff.

I’d been doing a poll on the subject. I believe the results were 30% would play only wild, 50% would play both and 20% would play standard only. Those are only estimates though of about 40-50 candidates; take it with a grain of salt.

Hearthstone and duelyst… with hearthstone they got some overly powerful broken plays and for that reason i didn’t care about wild format but with duelyst i just don’t see the reason why because cards are balanced to some degree. i would prefer if duelyst had a yugioh format of banned and limited cards because rotation will be a big hit however i for one would gladly stay in wild format if there is one in duelyst because ranking up is a no brainer just being honest…let me clarify i’m comfortable being a diamond scrub
