It’ll have to be more of a spiritual successor than a remake, since CPG still owns the IP. On one hand, that’s extremely ambitious, but on the other, this is a perfect opportunity to delete Magmar.
I’d love to see something like this come to life, and I can offer some of my programming ‘skill’, despite the fact that the last thing I’ve written was a phylogeny estimator that barely worked…
