Poll-Venture #2: The Golden Omelette [Chapter 20: A Journey Ends]

Now it may look bad but we have to remember, we’re in the Vetruvian land, so thats pretty neat.

Based on the map they give us, yes. But then again, that’s a map made by who knows who when and it’s geographic validity/accuracy is to be questioned…

It’s flat, obviously.

That’s what they want you to believe

Why would it be when all the planets in our solar system are flat? Shouldn’t the answer be obvious? You’ll just reach the end and then jump to your death.

Would we get more factions if Mythron was round after all?

You also would be starving or freezing to death if you fell from a round world… Also there are some problems with the quality of light on flat planets. It would never have actual light speed as it would otherwise be day or night on it, never both at the same time.

No, we get more factions if it is flat… because there is another side to it.

Chapter 3: The Mirage

Status: [7/2]

You stand up and walk to one of the giant windows, where a thin golden curtain is flapping in the wind. The sunlight streaming through the shimmering silk is one of the most beautiful things you have ever seen. You must show your gratitude.

You put your legs close together and raise your arms above your head in a “V” shape, then start praying:

"O great and glorious Sun, thank you for shining down upon me! Thank you for the warmth you bring, and for your brilliance that lights my way through the world! For the night is dark and full of terrors, but when a single ray of your fiery countenance pierces the inky blackness, I feel no fear. Thank you, O Sun, for the heatstroke you gave me that brought me here, to this wonderful palace of dreams! I will forever praise your – "

“Oh no you won’t,” a multitude of voices say from behind you. You turn around, shocked at this heresy, and behold seven figures standing before you. They all look alike: white cloaks, golden masks, and shimmering rainbow light surrounding them. They appear to be constantly shifting even though they are not moving, and ever-changing images flash across their robes.

“How dare you!” you shout. “I was praising the Holy Sun!”

The seven apparitions speak as one: “If you want to say endless prayers to the sun, go to the Lyonar Kingdoms. Here, the sun is a terrible thing that destroys all life. It is killing you as we speak.”

“NOOO!” you scream. “LIES! The Sun is a radiant and benevolent god!”

The seven figures chuckle simultaneously. "Radiant, yes. Benevolent, no. And the sun is no god… unlike me. You have the pleasure of speaking with the God of Mirages.

I give false hope to travelers like yourself who get lost in the desert. When they approach death, I give them wonderful visions of water, and they die trying to drink sand. It is quite amusing, really. For you I disguised the sand as a golden omelette, but you somehow did not fall for the trap."

“Wait a minute…” you say, looking around the room. “I’m not dreaming?”

“No,” the God of Mirages intones. “You are dying. Ready to go back to reality?” All seven gods lift their hands, and the air starts to warp and distort around you.

  • Say: “Yes, I want to bask in the real Sun’s glory yet again!”
  • Say: “No, I’ll do whatever you want, don’t send me back!”
  • Attack the nearest God of Mirages.
  • Jump out the window and run away.

Somehow we are not dead, yet. Quite strange.

BTW, by description I thought 7 prismatic sunseers appeared.
