I would like an undo button for the that occasional time I move or attack something on accident. Of course it should be disabled if the sentinel hidden condition is revealed though and similar things like that. But it should only be a single use per match if added at all ever.
One use undo button? Anybody?
I’ve had my share of bonehead moments… missing lethal because I forgot to replace before deciding what to do or getting the order wrong on some synergies… but honestly I think this would be very bad for the game.
I mean, if it was an undo button that your opponent could choose to allow or deny. I can see some issue with expectations and more issue being brought up from this though. I can see both cases.
I’m not sure about this. Duelyst is a game where one mistake can cost the entire game, and I would like to have the advantage whenever my opponent makes a mistake like such. Maybe it should only be allowed in Bronze, but that should be about it.
You have this on cards with an opening gambit that targets. All of those will have a cancel button if you play them while they have a legal target. Beyond that it is probably not a good idea to have people rewind their turn, with cards like Kron that exist and would allow you to re-roll the dice. You could argue to only allow you to reverse one decision and it cannot be one that involves RNG, but that sounds like it is not trivial to implement.
The only advice I can give you is to plan your entire turn before you make your first move.
As my chess teacher used to tell me when I was a kid:
“Sit on your hands until you are absolutely sure which move to make”.
