Meltdown Midrange Madness S-rank Argeon

Hey guys, WildDitto here, some of you may still know me from the time before the standard mode was introduced to Hearthstone.

Since I have more time to play now and the fact that I’m bored of the stale HS meta, I decided to try to reach top 50 in Duelyst this month.
Until rank 6 I played different decks, on of those was tempo Argeon but I didn’t have fun playing it.
Back in the days control Lyonar was quite my favourite deck but I also didn’t feel like playing heal Zir’an, so I decided to build my own midrange Argeon and see how it works out.

The Idea was to have enough pressure to battle tempo/aggro decks and outvalue them in the lategame with heals and card draw and still have enough lategame threats to stand against control decks, thats why I decided to put in 2 Meltsdown.

The first version ran 2 divine bonds as well, but I swapped them out for for 2 Martyrdom since I almost never got value and those cards helped me alot.
The deck isn’t too expensive since it “only” runs 4 legendaries, total costs are 4290 spirit.

The deck helped me to get from rank 6 to S-rank #31 and I thought I would share the deck if anyone else enjoys playing a tempo/control mix :slight_smile:

The spirit cost of RotB isn’t calculated in the deckbuilder, so it’s 4k spirit + RotB.

I faced this list a couple of times on ladder. Very frustrating :stuck_out_tongue: You basically need Enfeeble or Battle Panddo + DSS to deal with it. You get them down to like 7 HP, then the triple Scintillas happen, heh.

I remember playing against you, you ended my winstreak when I was like 13-0 or something like that :smiley:

Little update: climbed on stream from #41 to #21 after an 8-0 win streak :smiley:

Suggestions to replace arclyte regalia and circle of life?

I think Suntide Maiden is a good replacement for Regalia.

Yeah I would go for Maiden or Arclyte Sentinel.
Replacing CoL is pretty hard since it often gives huge tempo swings and can kill minions where Holy Imo can’t help, also since there are some Vets on the ladder its the perfect counter to Aymara Healer so maybe Lightbender can help out :slight_smile:

So, my main issue with this list is actually Meltdown. Faie is often good enough at staying ahead on board long enough to make use of Meltdown as a burn tool- but every other general I’ve seen under-performs with it. Rather, the opportunity cost of playing it over Elyx, Z’ir, The Scientist, or most other fatties is too high imo- since it only rewards decks that are trying to do face damage and keep the board clear at the same time.

I get your point and maybe it isn’t the best choice, but for it works incredibly well.
Right now I’m on a 12-0 winstreak, leaving me at S-rank #20 :smiley:

bumped! I don’t often have much time to play and when I do I usually play an extreme control heavy Argeon (that never trades face lol)~ So I’ll be happy to try out your deck for a nice pace change
