I decided I wanted a change of pace from Abyssian since I already have a nicely made deck with them and wanted to try my hand at using Magmar since they seem to be the “meta” deck. I have 485 spirit to spend and All the base cards they give you for magmar(along with slithars and a few other things) I’m looking for where to spend my spirit at.
Magmar budget deck?
Rage binder will be the most staple common, so would be a solid craft (thankfully you already have the young silithars)
Fit in as many lavaslashers and Makantors as you have available. If you already have the ragebinders, literally spend all your spirit for one of these.
Everything else you can just pack in tempo. Flash reincarnation, elucidator, and egg morphs are all solid rares that you can put in or distribute your spirit through, but I still recommend getting even 1 copy of lavaslasher or makantor over any combination of these.
If you’re looking for a cool, interesting Magmar common, check out biomimetic hulks. Tragically, they often get eliminated before ever getting to punch anything, but that means your opponent is either sinking ten damage into a building that could have been aimed at other things, or they’re burning removal on a two-drop. Either way is your win.
It is worth noting that biohulk is a major nonbo with natural selection and plasma storm, although they combo really well with homeostatic rebuke for the same reason. Also, if you get two in hand turn one as player two, slam them both out and watch player one scramble to do something about them.
If you actually want the meta deck, it’s @deathsadvocate’s Sexy Lizard. But even with the kujatas and six legendaries replaced with commons, it’s still a five-thousand-spirit deck.
Adding onto @buddybluebomber’s shopping list, once you have Makantor warbeasts and lavaslashers (in that order), get homeostatic rebukes, which annihilate a lot of boardstates, and then armadas, which are massive answer-or-die threats that pump out a ton of damage every turn they stay on the field.

Came back to this thread to thank everybody for helping me out with another deck. I’m going to be posting a budget version of a Ragnora deck (cause eggmar seems cool) pretty soon. I’m about halfway done with building the deck (decided to go ahead and shell out for the common and rare staples first then save up for the big epics and stuff later) It’s gunna be fun playing the deck with a different general up until I get the wins for ragnora though lmao. Prolly just gunna use starhorn tbh. Or vaath and just toss some cryptographers in there
I don’t like Biomimetic Hulks, because they get in the way for Natural Selection and Plasma Storm. Also, they cannot be used in the early game to contest the mana tiles. Did you have a better experience than me with the card?

Try to build a EGGO deck with Golems and Egg synergies interwined. Best thing for it are obviosly Ragebinders but you can put in some really nice rares like Golem Metallurgist , Boulder Breacher and EMP to joun the team. EMP seems like anti synergy, but you can profit from it if you use Erratic Raptyr which will turn into a 3 mana 5/5 vanilla after the dispel. Epics should be Lavaslasher and of course Makantor Warbeast but you can experiment with the Golem Egg synergies first. A bonded Boulder Breacher for example can be really good if you assemble a swarm, or even better with the Ripper!
i alreayd have the golem metallurgists and the ragebinders. Getting me some erratic raptyrs and some of the egg synergy spells next. then I’m gunna do the big spirit save and get makantor warbeasts and lavaslashers.
