So can somebody clear up the situation of Redsteel minos +bbs and thraex+bbs progressing magmar trial? Is it a bug? Its kinda pissing me off

More like broken lol. Makes it way too consistent. Even more gross with starhorn adding vindicator to the list.
Sure it’s bad by itself, but the BBS proc makes it an almost guaranteed completion every game.
@t2k5 Litterally made a version that ran no traditional removal and said on the discord “It was an easy top 50.”
The deck is broken interms that it is extremely bugged.
And if you do exploit bugs I question your morality as it was never intended to be used like that by the devs.
It’s not a bug in the strictest sense but definitely unintended in practice. That said like most balance related things in Duelyst, it’s the numbers that matter. Would this be so broken for instance if we moved the trail count up to 7, to 8? Etc

The devs said GLHF to me when I reported the interactions and said I’d just cheese my way to the top, so intended or not, my conscience is clean. :3

The wording says : “Cast spell that give minion +atk”.
In programming, that isnt a bug but ambiguity. Programmer did the job as the word say, perhaps.
If (spell cast = true && minion atk after > before) then progress trial.
Same goes as Abyss, if(spellyoucast = true && yourminion = died) then it is progressing.
This also proved when you cast Cassyva bbs on your 1 health minion, or punish your damaged minion.
Like ‘buy 3eggs, if there is a milk buy 2’ . And ended up with the person buying 2 eggs.
Where you could say it like ‘buy 3 eggs, also buy 2 milk if there is milk.’
The one that called a bug is when the Strategos trial reset. There is some code that trigger it.
This why i hate when cpg create ambigue words.
Saying it’s “discoverable”.
If that how its suppised to be, then ok. But please make the words more clear.
Ebon Ox Songhai, also. It doesnt say randomly damage enemy when you summon minion.
When other minions have keyword that clearly say random if they suppose to do random buff or hit.
Strategos also have the word promote your minions.
