Lantern control boys. I’ve played that deck. It’s fun for a closet sadist like me.
Introducing this meta's broken Songhai combo decks, by AlphaCentury
How does the Boulder Hurl deck fair against Arclyte Regalia?
Arclyte eats a hit or 2 and then business as usual I’d assume
i guess my fun shidai kensho vortex will be a thing of the past sigh imma stay in silver ranks and have fun testing
I can’t believe the crapy theorycraft I made 30 minutes after meditate was revealed turned into a real deck. I’ll just assume you came up with it independently and let my conscience be free of guilt.
Well I just lost to this deck I knew it was coming at t2 but I just watched as I got otk comboed. anyone have a solid agro deck for this meta? Otherwise think I’m taking a break, devs made this a broken game and it’s just not fun anymore. I think I may take the advice of the guy who told me to try Farriea
I mean, I knew this deck was coming because I saw T2 and alpha talking about it in Discord, but wow. Now I am angry that these decks are so cancerous beyond anything I have ever seen, but what I am really angry about it the fact that I have to call my favorite faction cancer.
This is ridiculous that the devs would let it get this far, would let these type of things exist in game and yet preach until the cows come home that “we want to make everything fair and balanced” as justification for giving little to no support to other more healthier songhai archetypes. And yet Magmar is getting forcefield for their eggs, beastclad hunter and Haruspex, a 4 mana 7/6.
Meanwhile they give support to archetypes that give hai a bad name like Mantra. It is the equivalent to starving your child forcing him to rob people so he can eat, but then saying that it is wrong to rob people and he should be ashamed.
I am overall just very disappointed so far in this expansion as a songhai main. I realize that these bugs will eventually be fixed, but the fact that this is the only new songhai deck that has come out of this expansion so far should be a red light regarding CPG’s design policy towards Songhai.
You can try Mnemovore to kill their combo after the Qorloma comes down, or you can try to give Spell-proof to the owl guy that heals you (for the Rock version)
Magesworn is always an option, and Malicious Wisp + big card can put a pretty big dent in this deck’s plan due to its lack of removal.
If you feel especially evil, Use Malicious Wisp to ramp, play Mnemovore (out of range of shroud) and then iceage to get their deck empty. Then, rope each turn while spamming Faie kiss emotes. ddos-hai deserves no mercy.
Pureblade is the real counter to this.
Oh dear, this outright terrifying. I fought against Alpha with this deck but I won since he didn’t get the combo going. I had no Idea that this could make it physically impossible for your opponent to play the game. That is way more frustrating then any other deck in Duelyst history.
I hope they do something about this nonsense, having really strong decks is one thing but having decks that physically prevent you from playing the game is a completely different thing.
It is no longer an exaggeration when you say that Songhai just plays Solitaire.
First my strategos got pureblade and screwed his animations, then another game I got zi’r against him and he couldnt burn in time.
Simple fix: prevent Meditate from reshuffling other copies of Meditate.
This is something which is obviously unintended and unfun. I’m fine with OTK decks, but this is bullshit
If konami could kill full power pepe in a week CPG could kill this deck in the same time.
A deck that casts infinite spells so your oppenent cannot play the game shouldn’t exist.
@Ryvirath @ThanatosNoa (Sorry to bug you but a deck like this is unhealthy for the game and one of the most degenerate decks in any card game (There wad a deck like this in HS.))
And @t2k5 Please temporarily take down the speedhacks script so this list doesn’t spread. (Sorry to bug you as well.)
Just implement the fix I suggested. It would keep Meditate fun and interesting, while killing only those degenerate cases.
I really hope for a patch next week, too many things are broken
I realized only now that the speed-up script actually helps that deck too …
You need it to play the combo.
All they do is change the client’s config, so anyone can do it on their own anyway. Even if I took them down, the ones who actually use the decks could either roll their own, or they could have saved local versions of my scripts already. Keeping them public makes it fair for everyone.
You can also skip the drawing animations without the scripts, and since the Boulder Hurl version is the most viable one, an OTK, AND needs the speedhack the least, it doesn’t really matter much anyway.
My worrues was that they would have a local copy saved but taking it down to prevent future use of the deck.
Jay is kinda wrong here, because DDoSHai can be hard-countered by running the same config changes. Boulder Hurl has no counter other than racing your opponent down, since it’s an OTK.
