I’ve been testing this list for a while going back and forth between golems and a rae-fault package. It’s been somewhat successful on ladder getting me into gold (barely!) and sneaking out wins I had no business getting. Any advice on improving it?
Gold Rank Ciphyron Golems
Looks good to me, except I don’t think I’d run more than 2 Psychic Conduit and I think Mentor is probably garbage in Ciphyron. This should be Diamond worthy, good luck climbing
I’ve found mentor to be a solid 3 drop and combo piece for conduit. Any ideas for a replacement?
Lightbender is pretty good 2-off if you find yourself in sticky situations pretty often. Don’t sweat the bloodbound mentor imo. Aside from Falcius, Golem vet doesn’t have good options when it comes to 3-drops.
Shitty alternatives
- bloodshard: crap stats nope
- Ghoulie: only synergizes with Metallurgist. (Doesn’t work with sirrocco)
Probably less shitty:
- Vanquisher: haven’t tried, crap stats. but it might be useful for lining up your Grapnel or Kproj
I strongly recommend a few copies of Cataclysmic Fault if you have them. They are so good against Magmar.
An early Fault is very feasible with Celebrant going second. Magmar has good AOE, but eventually, your infinite Dervishes will wear them out. If you run away and body block correctly, you can make Saurian Finality completely useless, since Fault makes your mana a lot more efficient than the opponent’s. Furthermore, Magmar has no direct damage outside of rush, so, if you walk them off completely, you can evade damage indefinitely.
Fault (alongside ramped Variax and Zendo) is one of the few lategame cards that are not butchered by Finality/Plasma Storm/rebuke. Take advantage of that and make the lizards bleed!
I’ve been running this and I got to gold with it but I didn’t get too much time to actually play this month so I won’t pretend my victory ratio means anything, as it requires further testing and some adjustments.
It’s all over the place but you got the golem package, the Thunderhorn leisure suite (w/ Repulsor Beast, Lost in the Desert, Kinematic Projection) and the debuff corner with Grapnel, Mentor, Equality Constraint…
I should choose to only keep one between Healer and Grapnel but for now both are working fine. I also find Bloodbound Mentor to fit the deck fairly well, I used Skippy before and while he’s a good boy, having a 3/4 can make a big difference when my early game is about applying a mild pressure onto the opponent and dealing with whatever he throws at me.
I might go for Fault or EMP in the future, or even Sandswirl Reader to make the deck more consistent.
In any case, I like the feel of this type of deck, and I hope it can carry us beyond gold.
