The main problem with this card is that. It’s win more. Dead is dead, overkill is a waste of slots.

Seems like it could push Kaleos into viability or turn Songhai toxic. Maybe we’ll finally see that minion-based deck Ancestral Divination was looking for. Crossing my fingers that this turns out okay, because it looks pretty scary to me.
On second thought, maybe it’s a good swarmhai card, as this would give them a way to leverage the board, which is the main problem with the deck, currently.
honestly this thing has a solid body on it’s own, I could see myself playing this without any actual synergy. Just getting a free general attack seems pretty good, and when combining this thing with mds you can take out the dreaded 4/5’s and it’s a huge threat. Value generators tend to be pretty good

unlike Boulder breacher all backstabs get their benefit though… Scroll bandit just gets his card etc.
Maybe we need more comparable situations.

How is this discoverable? Card text makes perfect sense to me.
Seems like a really solid Songhai card. 5 hp is hard to remove, 4 damage is amazing for a card with such a useful effect, attack is under the IF requirements. Could be nasty when combo’d with Penumbraxx or even Scarlet Viper/Gore Horn.
But the thing is, it only works with IF or ASS. No way in hell it survives a turn.
5 toughness survives a lot if played in the back. Or else people wouldn’t complain so much about Thunder Vet

With 5 hp this can absolutely survive a turn, just play it defensively. If they remove it they likely spend nearly their whole turn doing so

True, but you likely spent your whole turn summoning it so really.

Mascara Artist?
This is kind of like Songhai’s version of Donaldo. Without any synergy, it can be a bit better than a 4/5 body, but it has a lot less synergy cards than Donaldo.
Of all the Songhai Backstab cards, the ones worth hitting with this ability are:
- Scroll Bandit
- Pneubraxx
- Mask of Shadows
- Gorehorn(?)
That’s a lot worse than the infiltrate options Donaldo has, so unless there are a lot more backstab payoffs in the next expansion, then mascara artist will probably see as much play as Donaldo

@isgopet, I think this card is gonna be great, it is better than boulder because of ASS and IF, lower mana cost, backstab for +2 and synergy with KE. Besides, Boulder is a lot more conditional, can only proc once and is useless once summoned on the first turn.
the difference it that its effect also helps out normal minions and even the general. just add obscuring blow,, mask of shadows, and any minion with “when this minion deals damage” text

Neat card, even more so since he has a big body (by Songhai standards). He is an answer or die 4 drop and can have an immediate effect when comboed with Protocol or IF. I’m pretty sure this is one Legendary that will see plenty of play outside of spellhai.
