Expansion Spoiler: Accumulonimbus (Vetruvian)

Theres gotta be an anti intesify card as neutral stat stick emp or vanar card. there has to.

I personally don’t rate trygon very highly, it is certainly playable in some matchups, but I wouldn’t put it in my maindeck.

A thread is not complete without Galaxy posting jontron.
Anyways, how are we supposed to pronounce the card?
Also , do we summon 3 dervishes or 4 when we play a second copy of this card?

It is 4.

In the article, Noa says that the bolster spell initially gives 2 health and then 4 and then 6.

I made a promise that I would react to all new cards from this expansion with Jontron

This card is good. I don’t know how good, but it is. I’m sure it’s going to see play near immediately, so it won’t take us long to see how much impact it’s going to have.

The effect of the card alone is OP but not sure when use in the real game. People just assume the power of the card with 1 on 1 general with empty board and chance to attack direct to enemy face. But in real game the positioning of both general and minions may change the situation. This card has less value when cornered on wall or surround by minion s & not all summoned dervish can reach to attack opponent face.

For those that don’t get the name: Cumulonimbus is the scientific term for storm clouds. It’s that word crossed with “accumulate”, as in “to gather an increasing amount of something”.

Likewise, Auroraboros is a cross between “Aurora borealis” which is the scientific term for the northern lights, and “Ouroboros” which is a symbol of a snake biting its own tail which traditionally represents a cycle of destruction and rebirth.

Both excellent puns IMO.

I’m not convinced this is quite as busted as it initially looks here. The raw amount of damage it can theoretically generate is pretty insane, but one key point that opacity touched on is that positioning is critical here. How many people have played Whispers of the Sand and gotten like zero useful spawns from it? There’s little doubt that on the second and third uses this will generate a decent bit of damage, but at the same time it will almost never live up to the full potential people are so scared of because there just aren’t enough useful spaces around your General to summon on. This is before enemies body-block spots or you against a wall or something.

It’s obviously powerful, but will it truly be able to deliver on the expected damage? I’m not so sure it can, at least not from the number of times I’ve seen Obelysks summon in really useless positions.

I’m not quite sold on getting rid of sf just yet (litd t.horn combos already did that) as at least with sfury you can get 10 damage instantly rather than having to build up with an earlier spell.

At first, I was going to complain about how broken this card was, but then I realized:

Magmar casually gets a 4 mana 7/6 with a questionable downside alongside a 5 mana 4/4 ranged makantor

Songhai gets mantra support

Vanar gets their own version of lavaslasher (with questionable strength) and more stun cards

Abyssian gets a card that makes corporal cadence both relevant and (arguably) non interactive

Lyonar gets questionable yet mostly fair cards

Really, Lyonar and Vanar seems like they’re the main factions getting the short end of the stick so far

Lyonar was always the short end of the stick, quite frankly.

I dunno, have you guys realize that Songhai has only had 2 cards spoiled so far and neither of them are particularly jaw dropping?

I will say that Vanar seems to be getting equally bad cards if not worse though.

More importantly: where is the post announcing the expansion? I was sure it was coming today!
