Expansion Spoiler: Accumulonimbus (Vetruvian)

it was moved out of the core set along with a fair few others, including skorn, sunsteel and dioltas. They will rotate when teh expansion hits

In collection if you type in core/shimzar its not updated yet than. For now they still count as core.
Thanks for the info

this thread reminds me of how scared some people were when Trygon Obelysk was spoiled, but yeah, this time it seems more likely to deliver on that scare

Not going to comment on the actual contents, but I want to say that card name is a 10/10.

Best thing since Auroraboros.

Y’know, I wasn’t there when it was released, but I never understood why Trygon doesn’t see much play. Maybe because it costs 4 mana?

But this card is bad. Even if it didn’t have intensify, it is bad. Just allows vet removal at 4 mana now, but with intensify, it is now face damage/finisher for 4 mana the second/third time you summon it.

I almost feel like CPG is deliberately printing broken cards.

You know what
I feel the same
And its a pity
After unnerfed Entropic Gaze and Saurian Finality, I kinda trust the devs to break the game every expansion

Well, we got our Timmy and Johnny cards yesterday, so here’s our Spike card. I hope you’re happy.

This card reminds me of the old 4 mana Stars Fury. You get much worse Dervish positioning, but after playing this 2 times, you already have approximately the same number of Dervishes, and this is more consistent.

It also reminds me of old Shadow Nova, since you can bean the opponent in the face for progressively more damage. Sure, it doesn’t have Nova’s range and AOE potential, but you can start using this 3 turns earlier, and it’s far easier to cast.

Overall, I think that this card would lead to some pseudo-control burst Vet similar to the old Shadow Nova Cassy decks. Just combine Vet’s efficient removal with this, and you have a pretty solid win condition. The kicker is that the best way to play around this card is to run away, which is helps the Vet conserve health and set up threats, such as Fault… the more I look at this card, the more disgusting it looks.

Trygon actually still sees play in the best OB lists, just not all of them.

To be honest though, only insane thing about this card is its intensify, aside from that Ied call it fair, especially since Vet’s losing Falcius next expansion, by that’s my opinion on it anyways.

Theres gotta be an anti intesify card as neutral stat stick emp or vanar card. there has to.

I personally don’t rate trygon very highly, it is certainly playable in some matchups, but I wouldn’t put it in my maindeck.

A thread is not complete without Galaxy posting jontron.
Anyways, how are we supposed to pronounce the card?
Also , do we summon 3 dervishes or 4 when we play a second copy of this card?

It is 4.

In the article, Noa says that the bolster spell initially gives 2 health and then 4 and then 6.

This card is good. I don’t know how good, but it is. I’m sure it’s going to see play near immediately, so it won’t take us long to see how much impact it’s going to have.

The effect of the card alone is OP but not sure when use in the real game. People just assume the power of the card with 1 on 1 general with empty board and chance to attack direct to enemy face. But in real game the positioning of both general and minions may change the situation. This card has less value when cornered on wall or surround by minion s & not all summoned dervish can reach to attack opponent face.

For those that don’t get the name: Cumulonimbus is the scientific term for storm clouds. It’s that word crossed with “accumulate”, as in “to gather an increasing amount of something”.

Likewise, Auroraboros is a cross between “Aurora borealis” which is the scientific term for the northern lights, and “Ouroboros” which is a symbol of a snake biting its own tail which traditionally represents a cycle of destruction and rebirth.

Both excellent puns IMO.
