Keep them coming, and thanks for the replays!
Duelyst and Chill - Non Meta/Memes
Since the deck is kinda fast can we place in any artifact support or sand sister?
You certainly could. But it may dilute the deck. That being said, more artifacts could open up possibilities for a Starless Eternity. I wouldn’t recommend Sand Sister though as the only justification I have for Spelljammer is draw. You need to spend summons on Keywords.
I guess I have enough. I’ll upload them when I finish my new deck in the next coming days. Things should start quieting down at work soon.
Summary
What’s up my dudes. Last deck I’m submitting before dat vacae. I’m actually pretty happy with this one. Abhorrent Unbirth was the original concept for the deck above this one, True Chaos, but Vetruvian cards just synergized so much better with what I was trying to accomplish. With this deck you’re trying to slowly whittle down your opponent for a One Punch fashioned end using Rush & Unbirth.
T1 prioritize at least one Void Pulse and one Flameblood. After that start searching for Unbirth and a Saberspine or Letigress. Try to keep your minions alive as you can for the game ending play. Summon as many Elkowls as you can because you may get Celerity which essentially can mean a T4-5 game ender or you could be lucky as all hell and play the god tier Rush/Celerity Elkowl. I hate to say, but you’re gonna have to do math. Constantly keep track of how much attack you have for your Unbirth play and keep whittling down that opponent general. Mindlathe is there to punish high attack minions or hopefully steal a decent keyword to combo with Unbirth. You could probably squeeze one more in there somewhere. Void Steal also can end games crazy early.
Overall its just plain fun do to the surprise factor. Plus wielding horrendous monstrosities that should never see the light of day in unison with some spellcraft will seduce any alchemists we have out there. Thanks for reading guys. I’ve gotten some pretty crazy plays with my next deck which is Lyonar. I’ll tease some screenshots before I leave.
On a side note, more Inkhorn wouldn’t be bad either. Cause you could draw Dex and get a cheap 1 mana Celerity summon.
@miguelosz, I’m sure you must have tried a Battle Pet - Abhorrent Unbirth list. Boy does this awaken the sadist in me.
What’s your take?
Actually, this never occured to me I’ll give it a shot!
Works pretty ok, will hopefully post the deck within a week thx for the idea!
No don’t sacrifice the adorable animals! It’s FMA all over again.
Sorry, sacrificing animals is my specialty (e.g. Dark Memes XV: RaCaChaCa)
I actually just finished Brotherhood this week, a great series!
It really is. The story telling stands out from most, even some series today. A good example that anime is a medium, not a genre.
Will you allow me to publicly execute you? Otherwise a really cute card
Summary
What’s up my dudes. I know I said I had a Lyonar deck in the works, buuuuuuut this ended up being so much more fun. Ready to steep yourself in blood and chance it all up on deceit and lies? I don’t know if that applies to this deck but that sounds pretty tight yeh?
This deck is based around two minions and one spell; Tahr, Marauder, and Betrayal. You absolutely need to rush for Betrayal and one of the afformentioned minions. Capricious and Betrayal alone can almost guarentee a T6 gg combo. If you get a crazy lucky T1 hand, I personally like to keep Darkfire Sacrifice for a free Capricious effect proc. Work on burning opponent removal and setting up your hand the first 4 four turns. Try to keep a Wraithling up. If you’re not having luck with draw, aim to swarm the field and use Chakram to clear up some space. If you have Betrayal by T5, play Capricious or Tahr with positioning in mind. If you play Capricious, smack the general for one hit and burn a minion or Wraithling however you can, hence my love for Darkfire this late. Activate Betrayal and hopefully you have managed to whittle down the general enough for gg. If you play Tahr, you’re gonna have to activate Betrayal first and with enough minions proc’d from Betrayal, you could be looking at an easy 11/4 Tahr + whatever damage was dealt to the general by their own minions. Mindlathe is also a fun card to have active because if you manage to get the Capricious combo off, you can hit for another 9 damage, totaling 27 damage in one turn. Of course you don’t need Capricious to make Mindlathe work. It is there to move minions out of the way and get some minor last second damage you may be needing to get the gg.
This deck is something of a one trick pony, but it sports some versatility and breathing room unlike some meme decks. Positioning is quite possibly the most important aspect of this deck which is why Tiller actually has some viability away from the pile of unused cards. Thanks as always for checking out the thread guys.
Any reason for no lure?
Works well with Betrayal and likely all that frenzy.
I originally had it in there but then I wanted to at least have somewhat more of a guarantee to activate Capricious, hence Ritual. But if you are confident in your positioning, you could plan to Lure a minion into betrayal AND wraithling range without blocking yourself.
Tahr + Betrayal is an awesome combo, good job! I have to agree with @humancalc, Lure would be a perfect fit for this deck.
Thank you! You are both right. I was a tad shortsighted and didn’t really think out the Frenzy synergy. The most exciting prospect is the lower mana cost. So in that line of thinking Repulsor Beast could be a consideration, purely to have another minion to make use of Chakram I must test this.
