Magmars always been my favorite faction, but I think the faction has too many staples. I dunno about balance though, I dont have enough experience in duelyst to say.
Again a general question for magmar haters.
If magmar is as you say, “Unbeatable” and “The best at everything,” which cards in the Magmar faction should be nerfed to fix this? Which cards do you think give them these abilities and which magmar cards are not balanced for you?

When playing against magmar, the most frustrating cards I play against include spikes and flash. Maybe making flash ramp 1 less and deal 1 less damage, and making spikes 4? Magmar would still be really strong but have to work a little harder to play stuff.
The flash nerf is fair, making do the same as kujata. At 4 mana I’m not sure tec spikes would be viable unless the card draw was more but perhaps the damage might need a nerf.
Im not a magmar hater but there are some cards that needs a tune down.
Ripper, flash reincarnation, tectonic spikes and zoetic charm are what i would nerf.
Yes, i consider magmar removals fine.
Just old timer chiming in here that relative power level and amount aside, Magmar is capable of more damage out of hand per mana spent than any faction, including a certain group of red mages.
Just gonna throw this out here that Magmar actually DOES have more burst potential than Songhai, along with the infamous Decispikes and Makantorjesus 8 damage (because why would you leave it alive). Along with the fact that it took 0 effort to do this because Plasma Storm + Rebuke basically destroys EVERY SINGLE MINION COMBO/PLAY, along with the strongest heals in the game.
And if you’re gonna argue that Abjudicator needs to be played to pull this off…The same should be said for Mantra.
Artifact combo from Songhai can be seen a mile away, and it does have counterplay such as wall hugging/placing stuff behind general, whereas you can’t remove the Magmar combo pieces from their hand.
I think WCG combo also counts, but thats more of a meme.
So I’m getting a general consensus here that magmars burst needs to be nerfed.
Fine then. Perhaps there are Magmar cards that are a bit overpowered. However I should remind you that every other faction has op cards of their own. hint hint vetruvian hint hint Let’s make a list of cards that should recieve a nerf and reach common ground. And yes, I guess Magmar does have some crazy burst damage. Their removal is balanced though, especially when you compare it to other factions.
Let’s put it this way: what’s the weakness of Magmar? Every faction should have clear weaknesses. And for all the other factions, this is easy to say. For Mag, I can only think of having no access to movement/relocation spells/effects.
Lack of tribe synergy? Obviously not counting neutrally synergized tribes.
No sane person would say they are unbeatable, it’s just an overtuned faction. Flash and ripper aside there are (which are plain broken and are the main offender) some cards that do too much for their cost/have an high impact effect.
List includes : (not counting plasma storm,natural selection and rebuke that make them excellent at controlling the board) krater,kujata,progenitor,gigaloth,ragebinder,lavaslasher,decispikes (oh boy, yesterday i saw a match deathsadvocate vs spammernoob, the first did 18 out of hand dmg with decimus plus 2 spikes, one of which discounted with abju, not even songhai,even after using abju can do that burst with 3 cards, and they give up any kind of board developing for their burst), makajesus, lavalance, visionar.
Honorable mention to erratic raptir and saurian finality.
I’m probably forgetting something though.
Also if there are magmar hater, but not vanar or abyssian hater you should ask yourself why.
Magmar has some of the best tribe synergies (golems) in the game.
I wouldn’t call magmar’s golem synergy good whatsoever. They literally have three golems in the entire faction! Ragebinder, lavaslasher and juggernaut. All of which don’t synergize with golems whatsoever. If you want to talk about golems, look at vetruvian! Their golem decks are actually viable! Even lyonar has better golem synergy.
Yeah, cause especially the first two are crap cards which see no play and have no tribal synergies also I’m forgetting Buildmar which is probs the best tribal deck in the game.
