Boss Battle: Cindera – Duelyst

Boss Battle: Cindera

The Flameblood Trials unlock the full potential of the user causing their own blood to become volatile and destructive. They channel this fury and anger into the energy surrounding them to devastating results. Be wary of her explosive potential. 🔥 Battle Cindera on open ground! Take care not to be burned by her Fireblaze Obelysk. ![|1200x650](upload://6Rrvx7qyu7FW2cds6Isz0DRPvit.png)

"This fight sounds like you're blowing a ton of hot air."

If you've played against a Flameblood Warlock, you know of their aggression. Cindera is no exception - if her unstable rage does not find you, pray her minions do not either. ![|632x772](upload://3ZZzGa6cfcSv112F6hA6M4yS9b7.png)

"Why should I risk getting burned?"

If fighting Cindera doesn't backfire you can earn a Core Spirit Orb. In addition to this, you'll also earn a Boss Crate, which can be opened with a key purchased from the shop for 500 Diamonds. Each Orb contains a collection of items sure to enhance your Duelyst experience! Can you stand the heat, or go out in a blaze of glory? ![|600x200](upload://c5qDVw9i0SVPvPGZIpMDQgrzNjZ.png)

 that was a nail biter. misplayed spiral technique was the only reason i won. if it realized its dying wish aoe damage killed the 1hp revenant just as dead as a spiral technique…

This boss is not fun in anyway. Whoever thought of this should feel bad.

Is it just me or is she broken?
When I used Ritual Banishing on one of her minions, it did not deal 2 damage to me and my minions.
There was another time where she punched my Phantasm to kill it, and MY Phantasm DID deal 2 damage to everything around it.

You have to look at the tool tip to know the boss has frenzy

Ah, I looked for frenzy but didn’t see it on the card. Just realized you’re right. It’s in a tip to the side.

Can confirm.

Ritual Banishment but also minion combat sometimes didn’t trigger the Dying Wish they inherited from Cindera.

This is a good concept with failed execution in my eyes.

I love the aggro and card draw concept being used. I really do. The pressure that’s put on with this is fun and places a lot of thought of positioning for me during it. With so many endurance bosses, it’s nice seeing an aggro one.

What’s NOT fun is not being able to clearly/easily see frenzy. It’s also not fun that the starting obelysk is in a position where you have no guaranteed safe area against a boss who can already teleport and have 35 hp to your “might as well be” 20 (3 from wind dervish and 2 from it’s suicide). I don’t like this fight, but I like the intent.

Edit: I’m actually taking back the teleport aspect as being positive or neutral. With the 2 dmg aoe boss ability, it encourages positional learning, but is immediately conflicted with the additional teleport ability, whose notion is positional unpredictability.

Edit 2: The lack of trinity oath did not go unnoticed by me. Appreciate it and shows what you guys are able to provide within a boss with just common and lower rarity cards.

I somewhat agree. I think the random teleporting is the main problem. Frenzy, the obelysk and even the minions were managable. What is most annoying about this boss is no amount of positioning seemed overly effective (I had to provoke sinister silhouette as Kaleos to even dream of surviving) but even that was okay because those are the two drops of the deck anyway

I think I understand that the random teleporting is suppose to make the boss hard, as Duelyst is literally a game of positioning. The last bosses felt incredibly easy compared to this one only because there was no way to play around random teleportation of the general especially since I often felt I was being backed into corners like with most bosses. Its just play as you go and be fast or lose or draw near perfect (as I literally had to and I only have control Decks :sob: couldn’t even get passed 5 mana without provoked silhouette) And the Phoenix Fires goddamn you! I say the Phoenix Fires were too much!

Did it first try with standard Obelysk, not the best, not the worst.

Testing new feature : https://play.duelyst.com/replay?replayId=-KsmKR7uGJxzBudNX5rm

I got it on my first try mainly because of luck. Just hold on till 8 mana, and then drop a juggernaut. Good Times. : D

Got it on first try too. Red Bullrush is still the main boss killer.

Don’t get me wrong, it WAS HARD, but I still managed to win because the AI still can’t decide if giving my wild tahr 3 attack is a good thing or not

I did it with my Grow deck at the first try.
Gro + Flash + Gro was too hard as an opener.

Tested again, both standard and Incognito Mode, works fine.
(Chrome Version 60.0.3112.113, obviously, it’s supposed to work only on Chrome as usual)
