AxHell in da house...or in da grid

Hello everyone !

I got into Duelyst today so that makes a new me baby player…and I must say the game is really fun, eye-candy and I like how the grid brings a new kind of strategy to card games.

For now I’d say my favourite faction is Abyssian with Magmar coming second, but that might change in the future.

At first, I tried to get into Hearthstone but I found it to be kind of boring (that tutorial session was horrible) and…not really balanced in my honest opinion. Also the classes just didn’t appeal to me (except for Shaman).
Duelyst on the other hand is more fun with interesting factions/classes and appears to be more balanced and less luck-based than HS.

Aside from that I am a huge RPG fan, mostly japanese like Final Fantasy, Tales of series or Shin Megami Tensei with FF 9 being my favourite game of all time.

I also enjoy anime with FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood as my favourite. I also read a lot of books (mostly Discworld) and mangas.
As for music I mostly listen to video game OSTs but if I had to pick a favourite music group I’d say it’s Nightwish.

And I’m a cat person.

I think that’s about it for me. I hope we all get along and we get to face each other on the grid !

I actually really like the way you used the word grid. I hope it becomes a popular way to talk about playing the game.

For now it is the best way I found to talk about it. I thought about “arena” but I think "grid’ is more appropriate.

Anyways thank you all for your kind replies. If I need anything I’ll make sure to ask it here !

I will have mercy this once due to how new you are to the game. However, if ever I meet you on the ladder, you shall face the full wrath of the Imperium, or the Empire, or the Kingdoms, depending on what mood I’m in that day.

LIke I said, the faction I like the most might change but during my play time, I had the most fun with the Abyssian.

Crowding the grid and overwhelming the opponent with minions is delightful

I have no problem with swarm abyssian, I hate creep way more, especially since the variax nerf. Still, gotta keep my reputation up…

Ironically I’m not a fan of the Tron universe. For it’s time, it was revolutionnary and it seems to be a really fun movie. But the universe just doesn’t click with me.

But I guess I’ll call it the board from now on in order to avoid confusion with other players ^^
