All hail the Pope of Pewter!

Seeing as the Zeal affects itself we have another 3/4 for 3, which is a good statline for a minion. In dedicated Golem decks I can imagine this being worth it but I don’t know if the game will allow for building up enough of a board presence to let this card get enough value when compared to Silverguard Knight or Scintilla. Will enjoy finding that out, and love the Zeal synergy (Afterblaze) as well!

Looks fairly good, decent body (with zeal), ad gives a few other minions attack. I guess it depends on whether any more Lyonar/Neutral Golems come out, but doesn’t look terrible.

This card is just plain good. Stat line is already solid at 3 mana 3/4 and it’s also a buff to pretty much all the minions a golem deck would play. This could singlehandedly make Argeon Golem decks a thing.

Also this card’s art is sweet. Makes me want to switch to Lyonar (Songhai player) just to play it.

I’m sorry, but did you mean Pontiff Sullivan? fits since they both have something to do with souls :ghost:

Pontiff Sulyvahn. JESUS, If you’re gonna reference something, the least you could do is spell it properly lol :stuck_out_tongue:

Pontiff Solyvahn more like :ghost:.

This card is… okay I guess. Compared to Silverguard Knight, you give up 1 health (which is a pretty big deal) and provoke to give your other golems +2/+0. However, Lyonar is pretty much already a golems faction, with their plethora of stat-sticks, so one has to ask if the effect is good enough to justify running minions with inferior stats. I guess a golem version of bond Lyonar can pop up; the question is just if it will be better than classic bond/ midranged Lyonar. Personally, I would rather go with Lyonar minions over golems, since they are more golem than golems, but I guess it’s worth a shot.

p.s. We should start a meme that this minion is actually just SOL (the neutral battlepet guy) in a mech suit.

this seems pretty good. also, that attack animation.

Holy cows, I misread that as Bloodsurge instead of Zeal. Now that the card is just plain good.

Also the devs would be lying if they claim that this minion took 0% inspiration from Pontiff Sulyvahn.

The more I think about it the less I like the card. Since most golems have no effects it makes any key golem with an effect much more of a target for removal or more likely dispelled since you wouldn’t be using them on just a plain golem unless its been buffed by a spell for example. Its not hard to imagine which golems that will be added to a golem deck once you know it is a golem deck and which are the key ones to target.

The stats of the card are good and the effect is good, but how good are golems and the synergy they’ll have after this expansion is questionable since we don’t know all the cards yet. Will the golems provide better value than the Lyonar minions their have now? Its hard to imagine that the answer to that will be yes without more golems with effects being added.

The card I was looking. Forward to art wise th r most very interesting ability would go great with my Ghoulie.

While I agree on your point and share the same concern, in Divine bond/golem lyonar deck there could be some more threats demanding immediate removal/dispel, e.g. ironcliffe. In full on golem deck, however, this will be dispelled for sure.

3/4 Sol Pontiff
4/3 Metallurgist
5/4 Ghoulie
3/4 Celebrant

Looks very good. The art looks even better. Can feel the hype.

This minion seems like a conditional version of skywind glaives. In other words, it isn’t that great.

Wow, he looks so cool!

People are really underestimating his power, I think. Golem swarm could definitely be a thing, with access to the god-draw card in Holy Trinity in order to preserve momentum from board wipes.

Except good golems are expensive 4+ mana. You don’t have the new vetruvian 5 mana that spawns more golems so you won’t get much of a swarm.

It could be good, but play golem lyonar doesn’t seem too appealing at the moment.

Well there just so happens to be a card that reduces the cost of all golems, so that helps you get away with running a bit higher cost creatures. Also, once late game comes around, you can fall back on those beefy minions. Will it be top tier? Nah. But it’s more synergy than what Magmar has for golems.

It’s a good card. The question is still why Lyonar should play golems over their awesome undercosted minions anyway…
