A simple question

okay that’s a lot there but just gonna put some of these out b4 the long reply. plasma storm is,counterplayable, and honestly the one time i went to s rank is because i abused the counterplay to it. the point is to bait him into thinking he should waste 5 mana on your garbage 2 drops when your wincon isnt tied to it. or dropping a few to bait it, and dropping your sirroco so he regrets it instantly.

u can also drop in “don’t kill” minions like grimes or crystal wisp.

you make it sound like lyonar has no way to pop that field my dude, but lyonar has 20 fucking pings and forcefield is the least of lyonar’s problems. also, dispel

So we assume both players have no cards to play, are at full health and nothing at all happened before this point?

Then Kraigon wins, sure, cause it’s forcefield 9/9 vs celerity 6/6. You’re correct. Magmar OP.

Now let’s assume both players have no cards to play, are at full health and nothing at all happened before this point, Magmar has Kraigon, Abyssian has Doom activated. Who wins? Abyssian OP?

Now let’s assume we are all ponies and are constantly shitting rainbows. We can actually assume anything. Not that it actually happens.

You’re right but again, abyssian is similar to vanar.
Frail minions early on but strong late game!

OMG LOL

LOL but not LOL. You describe a situation which never actually happens. Excelsious is never played as 6/6, both players wont have full health, Excelsious is, btw, 1 mana earlier than Kraigon and Celerity is actually something against forcefield.

What’s preventing it from happening?

It’s the fact that the opponent knows if they sit there and do nothing, the magmar player can also sit there and do nothing and eventually win.
So the pressure is on them to aggress and make something happen before their inevitable doom. All I’m saying is that the pressure should be on the Magmar player to aggress and make something happen.

That’s the point I can agree with.

Don’t play them into Plasma Storm.

How can I play around Frostburn if I only draw my 3 health minions? The Vanar player doesn’t even lose their minions to it!

Wrong. Unconditional has a definition which says “complete and not limited in any way”. (Source: dictionray.cambridge.org)

Faie counters most vetruvian decks quite heavily. Her BBS is burn, and Vetruvian has only Aymara as in-faction healing (not too reliable, especially against the hailstone prison and hearth sister faction).

Vanar also has access to malicious wisp, one of the best vetruvian punishers in the game. Vetruvian’s removal suite is not only expensive, but also doesn’t trigger malicious wisp’s dying wish, meaning you don’t get your mana crystal back.

Also…

Two wrongs don’t make a right, and bullying a bully doesn’t make one a hero.

Honestly, if we’re trying to go after bullies, that’s gonna mean something different for everyone. Sure, Vaath is a bully to Faie, but anyone playing Titan, for example, won’t care about Vaath. Titan is the bully in that matchup. Kinda hard to define the “bullies” when it varies by matchup.

No, don’t correct me .
When I mentioned ‘once upon a time’ I was referring to the past of Duelyst. I’m just saying how things have changed over time.
When I started Magmar was known to be the control faction. With stuff like Plasma Storm and Makantor. (Vanar stole Chromatic Cold.) Vanar had no AOE or late game stuff. It took several expansions for Vanar to gain stuff like Frostburn, Malicious Wisp and late game stuff like Embla before Vanar became a control faction.
What I’m saying is that I find it funny that people are complaining on Magmar’s old identity, right or wrong.

To be fair, Magmar’s OLD identity is still present.
