Perhaps the lack of memes upon this thread of memes is a meme upon itself… It allows us to reflect upon our fleeting and insignificant lives upon a planet hurtling at thousands of miles per hour having cosmic near misses with multi-ton objects as we hold a smaller planet in a lock around our own planet whose only method to not fall down and kill us all is it’s own speed. This in short, can be summarized as the ultimate meme… The meme of human superiority, are we truly above nature? Or are we just another lost soul on an empty, miserable, and wretched world attempting to understand what we are, and where we live? Do we truly enjoy memes, or do we simply flock to, and idolize them for, even if just for a fleeting second, thee feeling that we are truly a part of something greater than ourselves? Does the meme represent us, or do we represent the meme?

History time!
Back in the day when you needed a code to play this game, one of the devs (Umbrella, I believe it was?) made a comment saying that Serpenti was a good card. Naturally, the community latched on to this, sarcastically commenting on the power of the mighty Serpenti.
Now, the meme sort of fixated in this community. The community still wastes no time bugging Umbrella with this, as seen on the last developer Q and A. This, coupled with the fact that Serpenti has a positively derpy sprite, with a long neck and odd attack animation, made Serpenti what it is today.

I believe the correct description of that post, is in fact… A joke.
You see, a meme is an idea or situation latched onto by people whom spread it around as it slowly (or quickly) gains popularity. For example: Serpenti is a meme as it is an idea that is latched onto and spread around the forums.
Meanwhile a joke is an example of where someone says something the recipient would not expect in the situation or, in some cases, the joke is a joke on the idea of a joke itself such as in the classic case of “The Chicken Crossed the Road” in this case there is a very obvious lead-in to the joke where the person listening would automatically assume that there is something ridiculous as the answer to the question: Why did the Chicken cross the road? But the answer is in fact completely expected, as most people do in fact cross the road to get to the other side of the road. This reversal of the typical reversal a joke employs to generate humor is unexpected and compounded by the ridiculousness of a Chicken purposefully crossing the road. Thus it is a joke. Your Joke employs a reversal of the expected answer of “1 person” by answering in an unexpected way (In this case replacing the literal ladder with a figurative one. Your joke is also an excellent example of a reference. A reference generates humor by making a comparison between two things that cause people to create a link between the joke and personal experience or understanding the underlying commentary on something. Such as when a show makes a reference to another event previously in the show such as when someone says “This is almost an exact replica of the plot of the first episode”. This of course is an example of other forms of humor, such as Breaking the fourth wall, etc.
In conclusion, many memes, especially Internet Memes, are jokes, but not all jokes are memes.
Based on these, since your post employs a reversal of a typical answer, but is not an idea rapidly disassociating from its point of origin, it is a joke, not a meme. A few “original” duelyst memes are the Groove Lion comic since a few people made groove lion their avatar pic, and Serpenti since it is an idea that has spread from its original source.
