Upcoming news on Duelyst?

Sure, I mean the only thing we can share is the same thing we’ve been saying:

News comes with the next expansion, because there’s no reason to panic about anything right now. Enjoy the game as is. The whole point of the early news post was to not blindside people, but it was never our intention to detract/distract people from the regular games you’ll be enjoying (until we announce our next expansion).

As a newbie who has spent a bit of money getting a nice creep deck (my choice I should clearly add as I knew it’s going with the rotation), I would like some guidance…that being said I suspect CPG have learnt a bit from the recent Gwent shambles and I can hardly blame them for wanting to get it right!!

Or they could just balance it… but you’re right, because I doubt they will. Sigh.

I know how you feel about Lurking Fear, those decks have been my favorite in the game. I gotta compile my memes before rotations.

That’s for now. But in the future it will be a lot more extreme. The article mentioned that, for example, once the first expansion of 2019 drops all of the expansions of 2017 will be wiped.

That means 3 expansions will be pushed out in exchange for one. That will be the most nerve wracking of expansions as we wait to see which archetypes get absolutely blitzed.

Woah, that’s news to me. Where’s the article that mentions that?

Anyone who hasn’t read the article can find it here

At any given time, the current sets that are playable are the core set and those from the last two years. This was announced with the news.

So when the first 2019 xpack drops, youll only be able to play xpacks from 2019 and 2018.

Ah, i think i remember reading that in the thread. Jeez, casual play ought to be a thing or else that’s a lot of deck types/variants they’ll be shutting fown

Casual play WILL be a thing. The questions are, are they adding other game modes too? Will they balanced the unrotated mode? Will unrotated have a ladder, and end season rewards? Personally I hope every answer is a hard yes.

Will the daily free common card be from current sets only or all sets?

This, along with questions like ‘will Grimes still pull Battle pets’ have yet to be answered, and will likely be revealed with the next expansion.

There is still an important thing to know - is rotation full & final? Full as in whole expansion is rotated out without some cards moving to core and final as in no cards would be added back, so it’s safe to disenchant them.

It appears so. Unless the rules change, come next expansion all of Shimzar plus Funsteel, Astral Crusader, Dioltas etc will never again be playable on rotated ladder (unless reprinted as part of a set).

Do note that some cards, like all the Grandmasters, were moved to core. So, it’s still safe to craft a couple of Zendo for example.

At least, we can still try infinite sarlacs. They work even without lurking.

Blood Echoes has another year, and Consuming Rebirth/Nether Summoning will never leave us!

About unranked mode - currently I want it to have some sort of ladder (yeah, ranked unranked) but as @miguelosz said no ranking rewards.
Even in current ranked mode if there is something OP you either have to counterplay it all the way you can or wait for the next expansion. So I don’t expect any balancing for casual at all.

Another thing that came to mind is a possible scam with crafting prices, where devs, say, halve them and present it as accessibility for new players. As a result majority of playerbase receives far less spirit than they should without any warning.
I don’t really expect it to happen, but I wouldn’t be surprised either.

I’m not sure what you mean in the second paragraph. If they halve the crafting costs and disenchanting rewards, everything effectively costs the same. The number of cards of any rarity to craft a card of any rarity stays the same. So halving both would make everyone’s current spirit amount worth twice as much and make all future spirit the same. If they cut disenchanting rewards and not crafting costs, they can’t really spin it as helping new players. And if they halve the costs without changing the rewards, that helps everyone. It makes it a little annoying if you just spent a bunch of spirit on a new deck, but it’s still better for you in the future.

I mean lowering prices of rotated expansions only, while crafting costs for current expansions remain the same. Most of current players, I presume, would only disenchant those cards but not craft them when rotation happens, because they already have cards they need.
