Trials of Mythron - Disciple of Yggdra

Yeah, it really feels like an epic, but the card itself is fine

Might swallow my words later, but so far CPG is on fire this expansion.

All the revealed cards legitimately feel fun and balanced to play. I’m pretty sure they fired/hired someone at this point. Or it’s because they’ve lost the restrictions because of the rotation implementation later this month.

A 3 mana 5/5 that works with 2 underplayed mechanics, and they fixed both with 1 card. Thanny mentioned on Twitter that they were working especially hard this expansion, and I can see why. Reminds me that Duelyst started out Indie and are now progressively getting better as a team as time passes.

This looks very powerful, it is a 3 drop with massive stats and an ability that makes this hard to remove by trading. I would even say that this is better than Erratic Raptor.

Absolutely love this card. First of all its spritework is absolutely fantastic. The animation of both of its forms is amazing. The card it self is very interesting especially for Ilena. A 4 mana 5/5 that can regenerate itself already pretty good. But you can also spread its transformation out. Play it on turn 3, take some damage then transform is solid too. It also can generate massive value when it goes. 5/5 isn’t easy to kill and if you can heal it back even once then it would have generated solid value. This is not a minion you want to waste removal on, it’s only a 3 drop and silencing it isn’t that great because of its stats. Overall I think this is a great card that most definitely warrants experimentation.

This is looking really really good. Great design! Ilena’s got the tempo she needs, albeit at a very high Spirit cost.

Don’t forget that transforming a minion maintains its activation status so Voracity gets to act right away if Disciple was active :3.

3 of into my vanar deck.

Might also tey to pull the stun/vespyr combo with enough eaely game tempo.

This card is more critical then you thing and will become a staple in kara and stall faie too with enough stun triggers.

Btw - this in infeltrate decks might just work great.
All and all 9/10 in vanar points.

That’s a great card for Ilena, but I don’t think it will see plays in faie and Kara decks. The only stun card that those deck run is corona and that’s not enough for supporting this card properly.

I will tell you why it will -
Stall faie will run a stun triggers to create opening for her bbs, a good early game tempo card is always good and with santinels, this card ia a double trouble.
On 6 mana you get 10 dmg face + flash freeze.

On kara - basically everything minion based works on kara, her bbs is great at sticking minions (4/4 hydrogarm), permafrost and corona are enough to keep a 6/6 swinging at your face.

I would take it farther and speculate that the scariest deck will be kara stun, mainly for the fact that her bbs is sooooo versitile.
Ilena will be annoying for sure, but annoying and crashing your face with tempo it is two diffrent things.
if ilena will get a new finisher, stun based like winter’s wake, the picture will change, otherwise i’ll stick with kara for minion based combat.

I’m really digging this as it looks both easy to use and efficient enough. Though that bloody spirit cost might hinder the card’s use.

I would say that it plays rather differently for kara. If you play this card and bbs, its 3/4 and if you transform it, its still a 5/5. Transforms dont count as summons so you wont ever get a 6/6 unless its from something else like songweaver

Well it is a solid 2 drop option so it has that going for it. Definitely not enough to support ilena by itself, but we’ll see how this interacts with the current ilena decks out there.

discoverable?
fenrir get’s 4/3 after bbs.

we’ll check this once the exp. hits

so it goes from being Sub-Zero to being an even cooler Ice-monster thing?
