So the Goblin Slayer situation is much more serious than I thought… Judging by the first episode, it’s pretty trash, but people are heralding it as if it’s some masterpiece. And whenever I voice my opinions that it sucks, they call me a pussy because they automatically think I dislike the show because I’m disturbed by the rape. It’s elitism but on a massive scale. (And normal elitists at least like good shows.)

Basically people feel salty about other people overreacting to the ‘questionable’ scene and feel that those people aren’t fit to judge the anime due to their overreaction. The result of this is that the defenders of the anime then believe the anime is the greatest thing ever because of this and that anyone who critisizes it falls into the former category.

That’s not the point. The moment I show any sign of dislike towards the show, people will instantly think I dislike it because of the rape, and won’t listen further. They cannot conceive of any other reason why I dislike the show other than rape.

Im starting to think that CRPG as a genre itself just does not work
It is about roleplaying and sidequesting but those things counteract each other
If i roleplay a good character…does it make sense that i visit every single building of a city while my childhood friend is imprisoned and likely tortured?
Does it make sense that NPC are not only fine with me walking into their PRIVATE home but also telling me,a stranger everything about their current situation and asking me for help?
