The cat-lovers Vetruvian happy thread

Yes, I’d love it. Have you seen the one I did of Kaleos vs Cassyva?

No I have not. Mind linking it?

Just pulled off the zephyr Spin cleaver combo felt great. Haven’t had the right time to play th e Grandmaster… More my poor playing… The spell that grants artifacts wasnt so great stone was okayish didn’t play incinerate. Draw and was good. Need to make a actual real deck and not the expansion tho

In this swarm infested meta, I can’t be happy about vet and its inability to deal with bloodmoon

The problem has always been they nerfed our ranged dispelled a lot of matches would be easier… Lost a Lilith game because he put it out of my blast ranged and kept pining my artifacts… Took out the blood moon easier th e turn before.

autarch’s gift already won me the game 2 times.

About what i’ve saw:

  • autarch’s gift needs a little board to get completely effective and i mean like 1 2/2 in the opponent’s way with a clear board can weirdly do a lot (tested even before trying this card)
  • helps a lot against magmar (vaath solo in particular star wars pun’s intended)
  • i don’t know the spawn rate of the artifacts (and if it can actually give you 2 copies of the same artifact, it didn’t happen to me, may be luck),
worst case if it can doubles: 2 fire ankh
If it can’t: not really one bad case

I’m not actually playing zephir, i will probably try swapping falcius with it just for the heck of it.

I really like the card. Yeah, as you said there’s really only one bad combo. It’s amazing for combo decks because this plus tears at 7 mana (esp if you’re in melee range in case no ankh) gives 2 artifacts, +4 attack and therefore a crapload of burst.

Well, zirix doesn’t have real answers,
You can use a blast minion (starsfire scarab) or a little more reliable repulsor beast to “open” the writhlings sea and kill it.

Sadly, unless putting neutral ranged minions…but…

It cannot double up on the same artifact.

Mine is much more aggressive than yours. I can totally see yours working, mine runs things like silhouette tracer, flameablood, bloodtear etc. I also only run 2 divine spirit and 2 Autarchs

Had a quick go with Vet last night at around 3am my time with a quick deck I made. Went 3-2 in 5 games. Its certainly not refined by any means but I feel like there is a good chance for Vet with this release. There’s quite a few cards I would change like Wind Slicer, Wind Shrike, Autarch’s gift (remove 1 or 2) and maybe Whisper of the sands, if I had the cards in my collection to swap them out with. Think the main thing I would want to add in is Nimbus that way I can keep Whisper of the sands in and help absorb a dispel or 2 away from Nosh-Rak. But overall, I’m pretty hopeful for Vet although I still need to try out other decks from other factions.

Id drop an Entropic, all the Autarchs and make sure to add Aymara and Ephemeral Shroud. Rashas is also not a bad idea.

Don’t own any Aymara’s or Rashas. I know I should put Shrouds in, but I wanted to try the new stuff (probably like most people). Don’t really have that many Vet epic/legendary cards so would have to use neutral cards, if I wanted to refine and improve the deck.

My experiences with Vet so far:

Sajj:
I tried a control Sajj, with incinera to run away and Zephyr to get out of boxes, but I kept having hopeless matches against Aggro Magmar. I have not tried Autarch Combo yet, but it looks like very viable archetype and I expect it to see some high level play.

Perhaps, Sajj will return the combo element that was lost to Vetruvian years ago.

Zirix:
I have actually had a fair bit of success with Zirix. So far, the deck you are playing against plays a huge role in the outcome of the match. Some matchups are like a game of chess while others are like hurling pebbles at siege tanks. Particularly, decks built to counter aggro are crushed by Abyssian, while decks built for control are crushed by Magmar.

For me, Zirix Obelisks, while not exceptionally good, has been very reliable. It has the potential to beat both Aggro and Control (I’ll post a list later). In fact, the only games that I have lost to Aggro Magmar with this deck have been because of misplays (I placed an ephemeral shroud away from all enemies, thinking that it would dispel something) (blame exam stress).

On a related note, I would like to thank Counterplay for making such an excellent tool to release stress during exam season. I find that, playing one game every two hours of studying helps me refocus. I once stated that Duelyst was too fast, but for the purpose of releasing stress, the game length is perfect since you are alert throughout the whole match. I find myself more focused when studying after a brief game. (That might change, if the game length shifts from 5 minutes to 1 with aggro horn. Heck, that deck might cause more stress than it relieves)

We emerge from the sea of tears and rise anew! The Veteuvian Imperium and their great dervish armies will strike true with the aid of our savior Grandmaster Nosh-Rak! May the stars forsee our victory and the desert dunes bury our foes under our unerring onslaught! :imp:

sajj meta inbound :joy:

I’ve been testing control Sajj and so far I haven’t lost against aggro Magmar. Falcius is MVP there and really punishes them if they go all-in with Rancour. You also have to replace aggressively for all the low cost cards and they keep drawing you more fuel. Incinera has been a kinda letdown overall.

I’ve never really played with Vets before but I have really enjoyed playing with Sajj so far. I think I’m gonna try Zirix soon, once I’ve crafted few missing pieces. I really want to test those Third Wishes I opened from orbs recently.
