But you did spend gold or real money on it. So it seems it is a bad investment if they decided to overnerf it and you wonāt get compensated for the gold you spent.
Rise of the Bloodborn Pack Information+ Card Reveals
What does this mean for prismatics?
Ok, I need to know for science: What happens if you buy a bloodborn pack after youāve already acquired all the cards in the set, since you canāt get the cards again once youāve obtained them.
-Will the option to buy more bloodborn packs simply disappear once youāve bought them?
-Do you lose 300 gold and get nothing?
-Do you get 300 gold back?
-Do you get a 0 mana 30/30 Ranged, Rush āElder Bloodborn Abominationā, summoned straight from the great black void?
20 Bucks for all the Cards? Greatā¦THANKS A LOT
Even the Players who dont want to spend a dime will just have to open 13 packsā¦
İam totalt surprised and very happy with it AND the new Cards spoiled int the article are exciting
Want to thank CPGā¦Great
I really like the direction CPG went with this (especially since you only need 3900 gold to complete the set, which I have) and the gold compensation for buying the set for $20 if you have bought any of the bloodborne orbs previously.
As for the card;
Twilight fox-meh, could see play, but the effect certainly is interesting
Concealing shroud- I donāt like this. I knife this will be key for control Vanar (in terms of health), but I donāt like the effect. Does āthe turn after nextā refer to after your next turn or your opponentās?
Scintilla- good to help sustain the general while providing 2 healing procs as Zirāan. I like it.
Drogon- itās effect is unique, Iāll give it that. May be more ridiculous Magmar otks with this, but it is in the already saturated 4 drop slot. Probably will see play in Vaath decks (staple?)
stone to spears- my favorite card currently, allowing an obelysk to both reposition and attack enemies. Would love to know if a.) the both effects at permanent and b.) if you can target which obelysk to gain the buff. Overall, this can somewhat help Vetruvian deal with range, but not by much I think.
Furosa- finally, swarm wonāt die to ghost lightning or form! But seriously, staple in every swarm deck, possibly more synergies with blood baronette as well. Canāt wait to test this card out .
Whyād I have to have exams this week. Iāll have like no time to play day 1 of release .
While I am supremely excited for the speedy release (based CPG ), I really wish thereād been some type of heads-up on this shift to non-craftable. Iāve been spending gold on spirit orbs under the presumption that itāll give me sufficient spirit to just craft what I need. Now Iām very low on gold, and have very little to do with my excess spirit.
Regarding the reveals:
- Furosa: the Abyssal Crawler-equivalent staple for Swarm Lilithe. Great design with scary implications for Gauntlet.
- Stone to Spears: Thoroughly meh. The lack of permanence makes this very underwhelming, and Iāll sigh every time I see it offered in Gauntlet.
- Drogon: More, grossly high, out-of-hand damage for Vaath. Great but very scary.
- Scintilla: Corona is that you? A wonderfully simple, yet strong design that bolsters Zirāan (and control Lyonar in general). Love it!
- Concealing Shroud: Possibly my favorite card so far? Three unconditional Ice Blocks give Vanar so much interesting combo potential. Will certainly be testing this card thoroughly. Freeze Faie here I come! However, in Gauntlet this is just grossly bad (which may actually be a good thing in order to dilute Altered Beast and Frostburn).

Twilight Fox:
Hi, guys!
Iām travelling, hence less active than usual, but Iād like to briefly share my position on the expansion so far.
Things I love:
-
Tons of interesting designs and effects. I think most of the cards are very well thought and Iām curious of testing them!
-
Only 20 dollars is a very reasonable price. I will be happy to spend money in future small expansions like this, if the game stays in a good shape. Small releases are good to shake the meta and a nice alternative to big releases with fundamentally different concepts
Things I donāt like:
- I think 20 dollars is a very cool offer and I would have bought the expansion with cash anyway, but the comparison with the most popular game around (Hearthstone) is a bit unfortunate. There, the same amount of money also unlocks single player contents and less gold is needed to unlock an adventure, which has approximately the same number of cards. Duelyst gives more gold, but the f2p cost looks comparable to me. Probably being slightly more generous would have been a smarter move for casual players
Things Iām still unsure about:
-
A few cards look overpowered. But I donāt want to complain before testing them, it doesnāt make much sense.
-
Iād love to see different cards for Magmar, supporting a control gameplay. The new cards look pretty aggressive, but some of them are missing and so Iām postponing any comment
you get that they havenāt revealed all the cards in the set right?
Happy to spend the 20 on order. will we get any pre-order or opening week order bonus? like Shimāzar came with a card back. Could we get some shnazzy cosmetics?
Awww manā¦got 4000 goldā¦
the moment you realize that you ahve enough gold ^o^
Yeah, I know, but as I said later, 2 cards arenāt likely to make 2 different archetypes work. Especially when the Grandmaster is one of them.
FYI, I base my math on the fact that every faction will get the same number of cards, and that Neutral gets more cards than the other ones.
Awesome cards, especially Furosa⦠really extremely good.
But⦠getting slightly worried there wonāt be any egg cards for Magmar egg archetypeā¦
Still holding hope though, go eggs, finally viable Thursday?
so a presumption based on an assumption. got it.
I have 3000 gold rn soooo
Grind time yo
This expansion looks amazing, go CPG!
concealing shroud is gonna make solo faie a thing. equip artifacts activate this and smash everything since nothing can touch you. imagine playing 3 of these back to back. thats 3 full turns your opponent cant touch you while you can basically wail on them for free. other than vespyr or wall decks, its hard to see where this card wouldnt fit
furosa - the swarm support lilithe needed to make swarm great again
drogon- vaath just got a LOT scarier. especially solo vaath. drogon+adamantine claws+BBS = a minimum of 14 out of hand damage
scintilla- will become a staple of healyonar decks as well as pretty good in control argeon lists
stone to spears- sim city shall be rebuilt stronger than before. this time with with the ability to pick up buildings and reposition them at will. its hard to imagine there wont be an AOE effect like this eventually.
twilight fox- backstab synergy? is that you? does this make mask of shadows playable again? its always the foxes that make or break the songhai meta
This is the way ShimāZar worked. And balance wise, they canāt give a faction (in an expansion) more cards than an other.
But, yeah, I can give you a point on my other assumption.
Oh, so thatās why I should have been farming.
Seems like you try to kill opponentās weak minions and cast it to setup a backstub on something stronger by your minion or general if you have the artifact, seems rather situational and can be bad against swarm decks.
Seems too situational and inconsistent to be any good.
I doubt it will see any play but i might be wrongā¦
First impressions:
Furosa
This actually seems really good. It is a one drop with lategame relevance, putting it in the same category as Abyssal Crawler and Snowchaser. On the furst turn the BBS is avabiable, you can play this + BBS + 2 drop (going first) or 3 drop (going second) for a 1/1, 2 2/2s, and a 2 drop. Of course, if you have more than one in play, these are extremely powerful, granting 3/3 wraiths
Stones to Spears
This card is dissapointing. It is an old Saberspine Seal that can only be played on Obelisks in a faction where attack buffs cannot be abused. If the 3 attack lasted for more than one turn, I might reconsider, but for now, this card seems rather weak. I guess it can make an Obelisk a 3/6 rush, but that requires 2 cards and you are better off just running Saberspine Tiger or Whispers of the Sands. Itās such a shame seeing such poor Vetruvian cards being printed, especially in light of them being the least played on ladder and in tournaments.
Drogon
The nature of this card means that it will either define its own deck archetype or see just a bit of play. As it stands, this is simmilar to Sajjās BBS, but can hit generals. Maybe it is passable just as damage based removal, if your general has enough health, but it will truly shine in OTK decks. Also, on 9 mana as Vaath, you can realisticlly deal 20 damage out of hand with two of these.
Scintilla
Iām going to go out on a limb and say that this card is absolutely terrifying. Up until now, keliano was the only card that provided a consistent stream of healing. Unlike every other card, Keliano healing you without requiring you to play cards, or sacrifice minions. This meant that you can easily wittle down your opponent and beat them in a war of attrition, since their life total is very limited compared to yours. With Scintilla, you also get a constant stream of healing while giving up no cards. In the lategame especially, this might as well read āon each of your turns, restore 3 health to your general.ā
Concealing Shroud
For 2 mana, you can buy an extra turn of life. This is especially potent in the lategame, seeing how many games at that stage can swing either way if one general can find enough damage. IF you are playing Faie, you can prevent your opponent from killing your general an squeeze extra damage out of your BBS. Over all, this card is absolutely terrifying. Unless you have something that grants continuous healing, or have enough tempo to smother the Vanar general despite their immunity, this card will do serious work in the lategame. In the earlygame, however, this is a dead draw.
Twilight Fox
Another 3 drop for Songhai. Yep. Other than the Okami reference, I can see no reason to play this, seeing how the current mask of shadows is quite bad. However⦠seeing how it is an Okami reference, I will most certainly build an āall animeā deck with this, Storm Kage, and Meltdown.
Interesting concept of collecting cards, seems like CPG kinda needs the money, since 20 bucks for 4000 Gold is a lot better than the former ratio. Not gonna complain though. The Magmar card is nice, but doesnāt support Egg/growmar unfortunately and is a 4 drop, might still be damn good with Vaath, the other ones are fairly interesting as well and have decent powerlevel outside of the vet one.
The funny thing is, this card is better in argeon, especially in the lategame, since it easier to have a minion than a damaged minion.
