I think it’s not a very good idea to overly ping Yaviey while she still keeps answering to community.

No cpg didn’t promise. The wording was done very specifically to not promise something but to say there might be and a bunch of people took that as a promise.

“No intermediaries” between CPG & the player base, you (Duelyst Central) were used as the intermediary.

CPG has “high confidence” it will release new content in Q4 of 2018, you were used to spread this speculation without any official CPG backing. No news of this was released on the Duelyst Twitter / News site.

As mentioned, we were never informed by CPG of any of this news. Thus we did not share any news we didn’t have on the official Duelyst news site or social media channels. However, we are working with the CPG team and certainly hope we can get some news as they have it and once we do, we will share it publicly.

I mean in terms of “No intermediaries between CPG & the player base” we considered ourselves to be representatives of the player base. Duelyst Central is a community-run project and we have no stake in anything other than producing Duelyst content. What the comment was meant to show was that we were given information directly from CPG and we were. I wasn’t personally given the information, that was given to Hopper who in turn shared it with the others on the podcast. I understand your skepticism but I can tell you that the information was true in where it came from and honestly what good would spreading speculation be? It’s unfortunate if nothing comes in Q4 but that’s sometimes just how it happens.

Heya! Oh yes, I certainly don’t mean to imply that we here at Bandai don’t believe you – only that we ourselves weren’t given any of this information from CPG so we can’t substantiate the news to players who want to know what’s going on.

nah nah sorry was replying to the original post not your own. :slightly_smiling_face: When we originally made the announcement there was some speculation that the announcement wasn’t real so I was just reiterating that it was.

Hah okay sorry for the confusion!

Duelyst Central is a collection of people who are in of itself a circle that determines its membership, and though yes granted that due to the small population of the playerbase, it can be said that its ideas are indeed a reflection of the community, it is not truly an accurate representative of the entire playerbase, and self appointing itself as such is inaccurate.

When Duelyst Central was given this information that supposedly CPG has high confidence that content would be released in Q4 and that Duelyst would run indefinitely, it is indeed a speculation that this is true even if it did come from the Team Leader of CPG, considering that it is an informal message that is not cemented in the Duelyst News website.

Truly Duelyst Central was used as an intermediary by CPG to spread this perhaps fallacy, time would tell how much truth is there to CPG’s word. But from past actions, it is decidedly not very positive.

To address your first point I’ll say this much. Although people will generally have to ask to join DC the self-appointed nature that’s usually the bottom line. If you’re not a figure known within the community then we may ask why you’re interested in joining but it’s really not nearly exclusive as it may seem. We’re happy to welcome pretty much anyone who’s interested in contributing content and isn’t a jerk when asking about joining.

As for your second and third points there isn’t any information that has been false. They promised that they would keep the servers running indefinitely which has been done. They said that they had high hopes they would have sometimes for Q4 which seems unlikely at this point which is unfortunate but it happens. It’s sometimes difficult to predict how things will pan out. I’ve worked in game development. I have many friends who work in game development. I have firsthand experience with this kinda stuff and I can tell you, especially with smaller studios and especially ones who are working on additional projects, that it’s more of a good intention that doesn’t come together when this kind of thing has happened. It’s not an attempt to mislead or misguide and if it doesn’t come out Q4 then well honestly that’s too bad. I understand the uneasiness but it was a statement given with the possibility of failure. My personal feeling is that we likely won’t be seeing much until Godfall has been released. After that it’s up in the air but the amount of time and energy required to complete a project like that is huge.

Businesswise - they will have to deliver something on Q4 otherwise they will start bleeding playerbase.
Q4 is a test phase in the eyes of most of the players in which they decide whether cpg is trustable anymore. not delivering will surely hurt their reputation.

Duelyst has been bleeding players for a long time now, especially its top players.

To say that they have to deliver something in Q4 is to assume that they promised content in the first place, this is not true, they had “high confidence” to release content in Q4 of 2018 back in June when the Team Lead of CPG sent this message to Duelyst Central. Who then delivered this informal message, which is essentially speculation. Though Duelyst Central maintains its position on since it cannot be proven false it is true until otherwise.

Time will ultimately decide how true that message was, but to place all faith that something has to be delivered within the next 6 weeks to satisfy the players because of an informal message that did not promise anything in the first place to a self appointed circle is delusion.

CPG should not have relied not passing such comments through informal channels, and almost 5 months after that message there has yet to be an official follow up news on its contents.

For the uninformed, this message begins at 1:04:10 of the video from Duelyst Central.

Just to be clear, we got no one direct from cpg here right now to solidify the rumers?

You might be right by the way.
