POLARITY
Okay, so flying Abyssian might be athing, all your decks suck though. So I will put in some work and make a btter deck, with dark fire sac and nether summoning
Ah yess, let the negativity flow through you…

How do you still know this forgotten knowledge?
So, I decided that I need to remake a Creep deck (theme for which I made my first competitive deck). But, as I already said, I’m lazy and I also feel kinda lost. I see several possible directions for the deck (“regular” Creep, Intensify, wizard, Dying Wish and something around Nocturne). I have tried to make a deck for each of that, but still feel like all of them are bad, so I’d appreciate some advice.
Don’t mind odd card numbers, I was building it from my card collection & I still miss some legendaries (which I’m going to craft if needed, of course).
Wizard and Dying Wish might be the better ones here. Intensify is WAY too late in the current meta whereas Standard comfortably falls in the middle ground. Wizard heavily relies on the right starting draws though. As a side note, Grove Lion is an overall strong card but doesn’t really fit into Dying Wish; replacing it with earlier tempo plays like Tendrils or Punish may work much better. Even better if you double-wincon Xor’xuul, but you’d have a harder early-game. For Wizard you definitely need more draw, Blaze Hound being the obvious good choice, or a Spelljammer if you can afford to push the mana range further into the mid-game. Sojourner might be a nice second condition for Punish proc, or you can even incorporate Deathmark (which works well with Soj) or Sphere of Darkness (extra draw).
Ok, here’s my 5 cents:
Musts:
- use also Loremaster if you use Pluck. Make sure to always have at least 1 Pluck in hand at the end of your turn for maximal intensifying
- Cryptographer and Juggernaut are pretty bad. Use Herald or Mystic in place of Crypto
Preferences:
- I use 3x Klaxx and 2x Obliterate, and 3x Azalea if I include Azalea at all. I know, expensive af
- Groovy Lion doesn’t fit creep too well, too few big removal baits
Would it be too much if abyssal crawler was 3/1 or 2/2?
2/2 would be way too good. I think 3/1 might be strong but very reasonable.
Today I tried Lilithe Creep deck (AKA Nocturne deck).
Result was underwhelming even in Gold.
Idea is obvious, I think - use Mentor to store BBS and then “power turn” generate Creep when I draw Nocturne. Main problems is that I don’t get enough Creep for enabler cards (Munch, Azalea; expecting this I included Vellum instead of Depths from the beginning). Partially because of this quite often I find myself with nothing to play.
Also I did some lame misplays, and deck is quite demanding in math and ordering.
Another thing is I didn’t want to capitalize solely on Nocturne + BBS and included alternative combo (Alcuins + Pluck) but it’s almost never used.
Currently I think about replacing Loremaster, possibly Pluck and maybe even Crawler in favor of swarm support or general utility. Ideas and comments appreciated and I hope @miguelosz doesn’t think I’m trying to hijack the topic.
Any Abyss-related discussion is welcome and appreciated here You’re not running any swarm payoff cards, consider running 3x DFC or Grimwar in place of Pluck and Alcuins which probably won’t work too well in hybrid creep.
Not actually like this ever seems like you’d just easily die before having a chance to go for multiple Revs. But this is an idea worth testing, I added it to my to-do list
I had a similar idea and didn’t really want to craft 3 legs (Rev & 2 Mindlathes) just to make sure
I made a deck along the same lines quite a while ago (before the last patch):
It was a total meme to begin with, but is even worse now with the nerfed Sphere of Darkness and EMP. However, if you highroll and accelerate out an early big minion, it is absolutely possible to ride it to victory with all the ressurection effects.
Yep, I was going to use EMP as well for removal and fun synergy with the Releaser. I’ll be testing my own version soon
Played 3 games, not really convinced. The power of other late game win cons is just too much sadly. Also for two games I didn’t draw my DFS in time which hurts the decktype a lot.
This thread is bumped and will probably just be bumped again in three turns!
