Hey guys. I’ve got a little spare spirit lying around and right now the state of my viable Songhai decks is a little sad besides my Arcanhai deck. I like the look of Massacre Artist and backstab decks in general and was wondering if anyone had had success with him.
I saw this deck a day or two after release but I’m not sure how viable it was. Perhaps the creator has improved it but I unfortunately don’t remember who posted it.
The author is @kingw and I don’t know if the deck is good or if there’s more recent version.
But even early drafts of this player are usually of exceptional quality.
Tbh it looks very solid and I would have started crafting already if it weren’t for the presence of the Kaido Experts, which I have heard nothing but noncommittal “mehs” about.

The author himself is not quite sure of expert. I’d probably use good ol’ gore horn instead.

Obviously not backstab focused
Mass artist is kind of win more in a sense that u need a decent board to make use it
I ended up cutting the artists for another bakezori and another orizuru just because bakezori is so damn strong
all versions combined record is 21-6
Oh I like this one too. Bit more mid-rangey. Is the reason you excluded Ass. Pro because the deck leans away from the full backstab focus or did you just find it lacklustre?
This is something I have tried out, very similar to yours, josh. I am still testing it so I can’t say whether it is bad, but overall, it is frustrating at times because you have to draw well.
Having much more fun with a deck by ???, jay I think or maybe century? It is a really good midrange deck with Tusk Boar+buffs finishers or a simple Alpha Tiger. Every Hai enthusiant should try that one out if they have the spirit.
Also playing around with songcanyst, very basic, but wins many games if you can draw your key cards. It is pretty bad against sajj though since she just flies around avoiding all your minions. If you can get a conjurer on the field quickly, that helps spread out your minions so you can hit her wherever she goes.
ass prot is just one of those cards I really dont like playing
I understand the power of getting a rush thunderhorn or emp
But at the same time
ME GO FACE
and it really only has synergy with horn and emp, everything else is the deck wants to be inner focused or not activated at all (zendo)
Yeah, I hate prot too, but in this specific deck, I think it works amazingly well. You can use it with Bandit or Bakezori for draw, you can use it with flamewreath for AoE and Thunderhorn as well.
