In Need For Basic Information

Hi,
I’m just a casual player and I like to ask if anyone have basic information on how the new bond system works (how and when it is triggered, what is a tribe, etc.)?

Also, are there any basic information regarding each race (strengths, weaknesses, simple combinations, etc.)?

I like to thank in advance for any indication that you can offer. :relaxed:

A tribe is a tag on a minion

Like: Battle pet, structure, arcanyst, vespyr, golem

If I have a golem on the board, then I summon a warblade, bond triggers because there’s a golem.

Lyonar can stomp on people with high value minions, abyssian is cheesy, vet is just pretty bad, magmar is like lyonar but with dinosaurs and rush, Vanar is no fun (has an answer to everything), and songhai works with a bunch of fun gimmicks.

I’m by no means an experienced player, but i’m glad to help

A tribe is essentially a type of minion. If a minion is a part of a tribe, the tribe name will read underneath the card’s name, where other creatures have the word ‘minion’. Battlepet, Structure, Dervish, Arcanyst, Vespyr, Golem, Mech.

You’ll notice each tribe has a theme. Structures and Battlepets behave in a unique way (stationary with no attack, move and attack on their own). Golems are piles of stats while Arcanysts benefit from spells and effects. Dervish is Vetruvian, Vespyr Vanar, and Mechs involve Mechaz0r.

‘Bond’ is triggered like Opening Gambit, with two differences.

Firstly, it only activates if you have a minion of the same tribe already on the board. So Sparrowhawk’s Bond will only trigger if you have an Arcanyst already on board.

Secondly, it triggers when summoned no matter what. What does this mean? Well, Opening Gambit only triggers when the minion is summoned from your action bar. If some effect resummons the minion later, the Opening Gambit does not trigger, but Bond will. For example, if you Keeper of the Vale your dead Sparrowhawk back to life (and you have an Arcanyst on board) it’s Bond will trigger once again.

Hope this helped

Hi there! I am working to put together a FAQ for Duelyst right now, but it will take some time to get it done. In the meantime, you should be getting some information soon from others. When you do, I will be linking this info into the FAQ construction thread. If you have any more questions you feel would benefit casual players like yourself, please stop by the F.A.Q. thread to post them.

Thanks for everyone’s help. I think I get the idea. :relaxed:

Though, I wish there were some video tutorials regarding this new system (not reviews of the cards).

Isbee, I hope your FAQ will start with simple information about how to play the game and with simple hints and tips that help newcomers or casuals to get their bearings.

Just a simple hint as an example:

Since you can only have 3 cards of the same name in your deck, it would be more beneficial if you craft the excess of those cards into card points and exchange them for other cards that you don’t have.

Lol silly me I forgot to come back and link the thread. Thanks!
