I’m not far off, currently Diamond 2
Hyperswarm is high tier! 😤
FYI dont say something is s worthy until you hit s with it. I just dont want people blowing their spirit on hyperswarm when they hear you havent hit s. Even though a few people (such as I) can pilot it to s, its a pain in the butt grind, and its still not good to advertise a deck as such until u hit s
Quite honestly, grinding with Vet decks was much more painful as well as being less consistent. Combo/aggro Zirix is supposedly top meta right now but it sure doesn’t feel it. Climbing with this deck is pretty fun and plus, aside from the DFC’s, the deck is pretty budget.
Also, I’ve heard from people that grinding in Diamond is allegedly more difficult than playing in S, purely because most in Diamond are going full tryhard to hit S while those already in S are more inclined to mess around with experimental/meme decks.
Yeah thats true. Except when you are 50 or below.
Also, the metas high aoe presence makes it annoying to grind rn. You are quite probably getting very lucky, no matter how well you play
Not so much luck, more just playing around stuff and knowing when to cash in my swarm before it gets blitzed, surrounding the enemy general and forcing them to play reactively and lose tempo and keeping some swarm cards reserved in my hand to instantly rebuild when they do wipe.
The meta is partially in my favour though since, like I’ve said, this deck does counter Strategos nicely if they are running a version that is low on removal, which is most of them, and half the matches I face in ranked seem to be these decks.
Lyonar would be an issue if anyone played anything outside of Strategos but they don’t.
Vetruvian only has bone swarm and LitD as faction AoE’s. Both are easily played around, and I just have to keep a whip in reserve for Thorn. Accom is a non-issue when I can just keep their general away with the swarm.
Vanar doesn’t really have much AoE outside of Frostburn which won’t even get a chance to be played most of the time because I’ve hit my wincon before they’re at 6 mana. Don’t really see much Vanar in ranked anyway.
Magmar of course has plasma storm but DFC can be used to play around this. Makantor can be annoying but not impossible to play around.
Half of these AoE removals are fairly high cost, and if I get a good opening couple of turns (which is pretty consistent) then I can usually have a decent swarm up, surrounding their general with a wincon in hand by 4 mana so I can either close up or put them at low health before they even hit me with their removal. Putting them at low health generally results in them going on the defensive which then gives me room to breathe and set up for the kill.
The only decks that are pretty much impossible to beat are Songhai decks running all of their AoE/teleport etc cards. So, Protocol, Flamewreath, Juxta, Thorn, Ghost Thunder, etc. Can’t really play around a deck with that much AoE. Lucky for me though, these decks are not common in ranked
To summarise, I would say that the win chances look like this;
Are they running sufficient AoE/did they draw it in time? No = Autowin
Are they playing Strategos with next to no removal? Yes = Very high win chance
Are they playing AoE heavy Songhai? Yes = Autolose
Outside of that, the odds are generally in my favour. Anything Vetruvian is generally an easy win since swarm doesn’t really care about single target removal. Decimus Magmar is a race to see who hits wincon first and usually it’s me. Everything else is fair game and just a case of playing smart and positioning well to get maximum value from my minions. Sure, there’s those odd games where they pull all of their AoE back to back or I just can’t pull a wincon and close out, but that’s card games for ya.
This pic pretty much sums up what happens whenever I play Strategos Brome though
play swarm against swarm
Brome Strategos has nothing on the OG swarm queen
I really like that Furor Chakram pretty much invalidates Plasma storm. Look at that board. Only Rebuke could do something against this.
How would you rate Chakram/ has your opinion on it changed since its release?
Well I started playing this month so I can’t comment on it when released, but I think it’s definitely a solid card which, used at the right time, can result in devastating swing turns which your opponent often can’t recover from.
gg dabs
ima wizard
15wraithlings
15 char
Will try to ladder next month with it. Games are fast, so it should be convenient, I will see if I can get S.
Im sure you can make it. Rn because the meta is still relatively new and decks and cards are still under testing people tend to leave out as much removal, and especially as much AOE in their decks. This makes hyperswarm alot easier to play and win with.
I grinded it out when the meta was aoe heavy, plasma storms and tempests everywhere. Its not as bad rn, at least from what Ive observed.
I’m considering trying to climb with the thicc wraithlings deck instead as it’s more AoE resistant, especially when all it takes is a Wraithcrown and a single buff from Furiosa and all your Wraithlings are immune to half the AoE in the game
Plus I really enjoy using BB Mentor but I don’t want to cut Priestess from the deck.
