I think it’s appropriate that you graduated from a computer science degree and have solar boy Django as your name and that he was also in megaman battle network lol.

@Aeruniel yup, that’s the way it goes sometimes. Luck of the draw, murphyslaw. Lol
I have older machines. Aztec from 1978 & fire queen from 1976. They both work well. I play them a lot. I grew up playing them before video games were even invented. My dad got them from a yard sale for $40 & $50!
What’s friggin bargain. I’ll have to post some pics when I get a chance. I would love upgrade them, but a major bathroom renovation has to be next. :weary:

Hey, my name is Axel (surprise!). I’m 16 years old, from Latvia, a small ass country in EU East. I’m currently in 10th grade. My main hobbies are videogames and volleyball. I like the strategic/puzzle type games, like my all time favorite Portal series (Valve pls Portal 3). I also enjoy playing MOBA’s and CCG’s, as well as other nice games (Hollow Knight and EtG).

Hm… well I never really did an introduction or anything. I just kinda popped into the forums and started being stupid. I guess I could kinda introduce myself here.

My name is Eric, a 28 y/o (yeah, I’m not the 12 y/o I pretend to be) North-American living in Colorado, and recent college undergrad with a BS in computer engineering. Been searching for good work for some time now, just keepin’ my chin up and being patient.

My hobbies are mostly just doing nerdy-nerd stuff. Video games, board games, DnD sessions (hosting a game right now and playing in another). That being said, I do have a life and I do have friends (gasp). I love enjoying beers with the guys and playing Smash Bros after.

I’m Unreason. I can’t stop writing giant textwalls. I spend a lot of time asking myself if I’m overdoing it, and I strongly suspect I spend a lot of time overdoing it. I don’t game enough to be called a gamer, and I don’t game little enough to be called a nongamer, I guess, rather I just drift somewhere in the middle. I’m also kind of bad at them with the exception of Splatoon. I waver between A+, S, and S+0 (it goes up to S+50) on Splatoon 2, which isn’t amazing, but is reasonably good. I’m not real big on real life, and prefer the fictional, which, combined with my complete unwillingness to divulge any real-life details about myself whatsoever (no offense folks, personal policy), is why I’m just going to tell you a bunch of stuff I like. Textwall incoming.

I like bits and pieces of different music across a lot of genres, but don’t have anyone musical I consider myself a fan of, except maybe Andrew Huang. Cool Youtuber, eats sleeps and breathes every kind of music ever made, will make any music, will make anything music.

I like a variety of different anime, but I don’t watch as much as I should, if that makes sense. Some recent good ones are Shokugeki no Soma/Food Wars, and Re:Zero, especially the latter of those two. An older one is the English dub of Toradora, and an even older one is Angelic Layer, where some folks took a really bad Clamp manga and basically completely reworked it into a really good one-season show that no one ever watched. I’ll watch subs and dubs, but if I consider them of roughly equal quality, I’ll watch the dub.

I’m just recently getting into anime movies, Studio Ghibli and stuff, haven’t seen that many yet. Kimi no Na wa/Your Name is friggin’ amazing, and I think I prefer the sub in this case, I’ve seen it both ways.

I like 3D-animated movies a fair bit, first two Shreks are good, Despicable Me series is cool, most Pixar and Disney stuff is really good (Wreck-It Ralph, Big Hero 6, Frozen, better than eighty percent of Pixar’s stuff), and How to Train your Dragon is god-tier, when will they make the third one, hurry up already.

I don’t watch much in the way of non-anime animated series, but Avatar: The Last Airbender is a great series, Gravity Falls is a good short one with a really cool finale, Wakfu is a really cool two-season show best described as a French fantasy anime, with a gorgeous unique animation style and one of my favorite villains of all time serving as the antagonist of the first season, and to finish this terrible run-on sentence that I don’t want to fix I’m totally hooked by Steven Universe. Never mind the ugly part of the fandom, every fandom has an ugly part, some fandoms just have a bigger ugly part.

I don’t read many novels. Watership Down is a good standalone story, The Bartimaeus Trilogy is a good trilogy, and The Dresden Files is an amazing long-running ongoing series that everyone with any kind of inclination toward fantasy and/or detective series should read, otherwise they’re doing themselves a disservice.

I read some webcomics too. 8-Bit Theater is the grandmaster of comedy comics, sprite comics and spite comics. Maybe the start’s only okay, but it just gets funnier and funnier. Sleepless Domain is cool if you like magical girls, Kiwi Blitz by the same author is cool if you like robots and technology and genetic modification, Cut Time has gorgeous art and some interesting-seeming characters, though I haven’t seen enough to know if it’s going somewhere cool with it yet, and Gunnerkrigg Court is an iconic long runner that’s good for people who like unusual, though the start’s a bit slow, picks up a bit after the main girl falls off a bridge, then later a coyote god shows up, never mind long story.

Oh, and have you played Undertale yet? Play it. Play it as blind as you can. I think oldschool pixel art is ugly, and I still thought this game was beautiful, visually and otherwise. It’s not for everyone, I guess, but look at those freaking Steam reviews, seventy-five thousand with an overwhelmingly positive rating, Toby Fox must have done something right.

That’s all I care to think of for now. Sorry I didn’t link everything, I’m tired of doing it. If anyone looks into any one of these things and likes it, please let me know so I can be proud of myself.

Hello, I’m Sin.
I think thanatos made a very apt description of me beside my name.

I’m from a small country called Singapore.
I have an introverted personality, but I don’t show it when I’m outside. I like the term introverted extrovert.

Currently, I’m 20?
A turning point of my life right now is a transfer of tertiary education. After taking a few semesters in Financial Informatics, I dropped out to pursue my ambition of being part of an art team for a game developer. I’m currently studying a diploma for Illustration design with Animation.

I discovered Duelyst about 2 years ago(?). When Songhai still have 3/3 Tuskboars, Vetruvian had rush dervishes, and when Envybaer was still around FeelsBadMan. I loved the old UI and how the gameplay focused so much on board positioning. I’ve had a fair share of experience with card games (my entire life actually), so I hopped on board. It wasn’t after a year or so that I began settling into the nest of Duelyst Discord, and found some pretty interesting people.

I have a pet dog which I take out for walks occasionally. Sometimes I take time off by playing the piano (I don’t have a grade, but I play them by ear) or do some sketches of poses and stuff in shopping malls, of which I later scan them to my computer to do a more detailed work of it.

Life’s been a mess before, but I’ve straightened out and slowly working my way towards my dreams. I’ve had many setbacks but I’ll keep going, because I love drawing.

Cheers!

Nice place to find people from ingame in forums. So im gonna see who else is out there i for some reason have on my friends list

Hi.

So im D5DR4K3, relatively new here, who shifted over from the quickly deteriorating toxic meta of Hearthstone, and decided that, being a really rusty chess player, a game that included a board and strategy could be fun again for me.

I’m from Singapore, that small red dot that has for some reason been surviving amongst the intimidating powerhouses of the world. Im 17, probably one of the most stressful / enjoyable times of ones life, revelling in the countless number of assignments and bullshit being thrown at me given the education system here in Singapore, but I’m not complaining, Duelyst has helped relieve the ever-growing brain tumour I’ve gotten thanks to the IB programme.

My hobbies are centrally around sports / video games. -(yes I know its ironic, sue me)- am a fan of football. Which team? You’ll Never Walk Alone. Massive geek, prefers DC’s comics but Marvel’s Movies, never discriminate, if you love one doesn’t mean you have to hate the other. Favourite character? the Flash from DC, Spiderman from Marvel.

I have no idea where I’m going in life.

That tends to happen when you’re doing the IB

tbh, that’s probably it from me, but I would love to meet nice people from the community

Fun thread!

I live in Italy, I’m 32 and I hold a PhD in Computer Science, which allows me to work at the university as security researcher. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching movies, running and going to gym. I think I’m on the weird side, but I guess in a good way, since people seem to like me overall…

It’s nice to see a lot of people on the forums are grown up and with a high level of education, I feel less out of place  I guess this is the intended audience for the game then!

I’m a scientist from Finland (social sciences). Cool to see so many academically-oriented people here  In my free time I enjoy spending time with family & friends, watching anime- and other series, doing all kinds of things music-related and of course Duelystin’. I also like memes.

My name is Kevin, nice to meet you all. I’m from Korea, which is presumably one of the most miserable places on Earth. I still try my best though. I was born in 2001, making me a high school student.

Aside from mandatory SAT preparation, my hobbies include reading, watching anime, gaming and listening to electronic music. Here’s the song I’m listening to right now:
